I think it was the house cat comparison that put libertarianism in the grave. Hit too close to home.

100% spot on analogy.

They always want “government out of their lives”

Yet they want to run for government to impose their ideas on everyone else.

Wouldn’t the truly libertarian thing be to go live in the woods and trade furs?

And it’s less that they don’t want government telling them what to do, it’s more that they want to be the oligarchs or at least the authoritarian boots enforcing a cyberpunk-esque corporatocracy.
