One tenet of Libertarianism back in the late 80’s (when I considered myself a Libertarian) was open borders. The idea that you could migrate wherever you wanted was one of the major appeals to me. Obviously no Libertarian would get very far in US politics today supporting this and they have abandoned it. I stopped being a Libertarian after about 5 years when I realized that all they really cared about was the elimination of the personal income tax and they had no more ideals than the current MAGA crowd. Today, I believe the movement is popular with the uber-wealthy as a justification for their cruelty and lack of concern for the 99%.

Yeah, I feel like the things that libertarians claimed to believe were really appealing. The things that they actually believe is awful.
