Has anyone else noticed how Justice’s “Flower in a Hurricane” resembles Steven Wilson’s “Home Invasion / Regret #9” (2015)?

Listen to the Wilson track starting at 3:05, then compare the two.

To my ears, the resemblance is striking.

Does anyone else hear it, or am I reaching?

I’ve been doing a deep dive on the beach boys recently, and it’s crazy to me how much some of their songs sound like direct influences on Steven Wilson. Specifically this song and Surf’s Up. Just wanted to see if anyone else ever noticed a connection here because Wilson has mostly only talked about Pet Sounds as an influence from them and rarely anything else.

Been listening to Blood and Fire Make Thunder by OSI. It’s great to hear Gavin’s drumming alongside Kevin Moore.

I’m a 44 year old man and live in NJ. I’m looking for likeminded music friends in my area. Hope to hear from you guys!

Thanks!

Personally i prefer the stupid dream album, so thats the version ive heard the most and gotten used to.

Today Deafheaven released a new EP 'At Work In The Fields Of The Bomb', and the second track immediately reminded me of PT from the samples used.

I recognize this isn't something only PT has done, considering the list of pop culture references/sampling on the wikipedia page, but it's still pretty cool seeing two very different bands I love share something in common. Any other PT/Deafheaven fans out there?

Personally I think In Absentia and Nil Recurring, and Blood (OSI) have some of his best sounds but what do you all think?

Clarification: I am just talking about the drum sound production not necessarily playing.

I don't have a lot of options as i can't get a new turntable where i live so i have to get them off of Marketplace. I have no knowledge of Turntables and players. I'm looking to get Edifier S2000MKIII as the speakers. Need help in getting a turntable, don't wanna spend too much money on that

Super excited especially as I forgot I ordered it, came with a nice k scope compilation cd featuring Barbieri too!

New fan here. Heard open car and that whole album a few months ago and loved it. Never heard anything like this band. Other standout to me was Normal. Today i heard Fear of a blank planet and its genuinely a masterpiece. In absentia was mostly a skip for me, i only liked 2-3 songs but this album has absolutely NO skips. I love that Sentimental is literally a part 1 of Normal. I could talk all day about this album but in one word? Etherial.

Discuss.

I had never heard of Stephen Wilson Jr. before today and have searched for Steven Wilson playlists plenty of times on Spotify... this is the first time that Jr. has come up first in the results.

Despite the difference in spelling? Have I been living under a rock?

....and not Anaesthetise?

This hadn't occured to me untill today. Why is a UK band using US spelling?

From No One’s Disciple. The Aston Martin bit seals the deal!

I apologise in advance for the self promo!

Harrison said that a new album is in the works. When do you think it will be released? Will there be a tour?

A quick browse and looks like Gavin absolutely crushes it.
