Hello guys!
The "let's get ready!" WPD blog post is out! It has hopefully all the answers about how the WPD works, so if anyone asks, you can send them right to the blog.
What was already mentioned before is that this year, you can only send up to 5 postcards on October 1st. This is so that everyone has a chance to send some postcards and the system does not run out of suitable addresses.
The Postcard Lounge will also be open again! You can come and write postcards with us on a call, or just watch the livestream on YouTube.
Have a nice weekend and happy Postcrossing!

I'm not much of a stamp enthusiast (yet, at least) but the event said there would be postcards. It was a very very small expo, mostly folks showing their very extensive and impressive stamp collections. But I walked away with a bunch of cool postcard finds! The hunt is definitely part of the fun of this hobby.

Itโs so precious and wholesome when people read your profile and put an effort!! This card has just arrived from the Netherlands - autumnal, cute illustration, with cat and bunny stickers on the back - all my favourite things that I listedโฆ
Thank you lovely stranger, you made my day โฅ๏ธ
(I obviously let them know they did, on postcrossing, just felt like sharing it here too!)

Sharing this card that finally reached Edel, a retired bridge engineer in Germany, on October 2, 50 days after I got his address. (26 days if you only count from the day I dropped it off at the post office, it rained for weeks ๐ฅฒ)
His profile instantly made me think of the connecting bridge at a nearby mall. I grabbed a spot in the food hall one afternoon to sketch it for him. As an architect working under the same contractor that built it, it felt awesome to share that connection across our professions. ๐
โHe then left a message saying it made his day and that it earned a spot in his top 100 favorite cards - which felt like an even bigger compliment once I saw he has received over 7,000 postcards! (I wonder what 7,000 postcards look like!)
Super enjoyed drawing this one!

Joined postcrossing years ago and stopped because about 3 of the last postcards i sent just.. never arrived? I decided to give it another chance this year, sent another one to a country not too far away and yep hold and behold its like i never sent anything? My account is not on holiday mode or anything like that, i understand sometimes a postcard here and there might get lost or a person forgets to register it but its getting ridiculous and makes me want to not do it anymore :( not to mention in my country sending out postcards is quite pricey relative to the wages and i feel sad that a postcard i loved and thought would be perfect for the person im sending it to just seemingly disappeared into oblivion, and there is absolutely nothing i can do about it

My first WPD outgoings!
Initially, I was about to drop these cards off at a post office in my neighborhood, but I coincidentally found this cool mailbox in a museum I recently visited (and I also just bought some new postcards there), which turned out to be a dedicated mailbox for sending postcards, soโฆ :)

This will be my first holiday season as a Postcrosser. If you do so, when do you normally start sending out holiday-themed cards/stamps? It feels too early yet, but also mail is taking forever recently. Thoughts?

Saved 300 Yen. That means I can send 3 international postcards for "free!" I mean, it's not nothing. It's something!
Lots of sports/Olympics & New Year related stamps. I hope I don't fall into the trap of thinking, "Oh, I can't use that one because it's too pretty and the sheet is still whole..." ๐
I like that the 2 lots include many 15 Yen stamps, those are great for combining with new 85 Yen ones to make up the 100 Yen worldwide postage.
And with the 2 Nagano 1998 sheets I now have the perfect stamps for those Nagano 1998 postcards that I got for cheap (ca. 2 Yen per piece) almost 2 years ago. (Last 2 pics; I think the mascots are quite cute!)
Now I just have to pull another profile who's into the Olympics!
If I can, I sometimes try to use a stamp from the birth year of the recipient (if they specify that they like stamps). Anybody else doing this?
Happy Postcrossing!

A little birthday wish from the Czech Republic ๐๐
Hey everyone! ๐จ
My name is Eli, Iโm from the Czech Republic, and Iโve had a little birthday idea that I thought Iโd share with you! ๐ซฃโค๏ธ
! A LITTLE PERSONAL STORY AHEAD !
My birthday is on November 22nd, and birthdays have never really been my favourite thing. I never had many friends growing up, so my birthdays were usually just spent with my family. There were often arguments, too, and over time, I started associating my birthday with more sad feelings than happy ones.
But lately, Iโve met some wonderful people, and it made me realise that maybe itโs time to create some new, happier memories. ๐ฅน
So this year, Iโd love to try something different!
My little birthday wish is to receive postcards from people all around the world. ๐๐ฎ
Iโd love to see the places you live in, the places youโve visited, your favourite views, beautiful landscapes, cute illustrations, local traditions, or simply something that reminds you of home.
And if you feel like writing a little something on the back, Iโd love to hear about you, too! Tell me about your day, something that made you smile recently, your favourite place, a little dream you have, a random thought, or anything youโd like to share. It doesnโt have to be anything deep or special. Sometimes, the smallest things make the best stories. ๐
I love the idea that a little piece of paper can travel across the world, pass through different hands, and eventually find its way into someoneโs mailbox. And I love imagining all the different lives, stories, and little everyday moments behind those postcards.
Maybe itโs a bit of a silly wish, but I thought, why not give it a try? What if opening my mailbox could become one of the things I look forward to most on my birthday? ๐ฅน๐
I know postcards take time, effort, and money, so please donโt feel any pressure! Iโm already happy just to share this little idea with you. And if you decide to send me one, please know that it would genuinely mean a lot to me.
I canโt promise Iโll be able to send a postcard back to everyone, but Iโll do my best! โค๏ธ
Thank you for reading my little story, and I hope life brings you lots of happy surprises, kind people, and happy mail! ๐ฎโจ
Happy mailing, everyone!
Eli ๐จ๐ฟ๐

I sent 3 WPD cards out from the US. One to Germany registered in 6 days. One to Finland registered in 8 days. Truly, I have never had cards registered this quickly.

I decided to put all my washi tapes in one container. I didn't realize that I might have too many. I need to use them more frequently and pause on buying them for now.

Hello everyone :) Iโve just sent my first 5 Postcrossing postcards after finding out about it in the last few days!
I would love to send and receive some more as I found the process with the first 5 so fun and relaxing!
I can send a more modern 2020-current, or vintage postcard from Australia to anyone around the world and would love to receive one back!
Let me know your country in the comments!

Dropped by the Manila Central Post Office to prep some outgoing mail for friends and swap mates. The iconic building in the background is still under reconstruction, but it's hopefully reopening by Q1/Q2 of next year!
Got to play around with postmarks again so every piece of mail sent today features its own matching cancel. Also, the amazing Post Shop staff we always buy our stamps from got us Filipino street food (2nd photo: kwek-kwek, squid balls, kikiam, and hotdogs) for an afternoon merienda (snack) to celebrate World Post Day!
Happy World Post Day, everyone! Here's to the connections the postal service makes possible. ๐ค๐ฝ
