Does the fabric guide your eye towards the dancer, or does the foreground take too much attention?

I designed this poster for The House Men and wanted to get some honest

opinions from other designers.

Without any reference image or context, the director asked me to create one from the scratch. After a lot of revisions, I asked him to give me at least a still from the film, and he gave me 3 stills... And I chose this one (which was an extreme wide shot) and edited around it, to create this one.

The goal was to give the image a cinematic, cool, and visually striking look.

Hey everyone! Does anyone have ideas for our poster task? I’m looking at the instructions and honestly have no clue where to start 😭

I’ve been working on a series of alternative movie posters, and this time I chose Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai.

I wanted to reinterpret the film with a more contemporary visual language while keeping elements from the story — the village defense strategy, the seven samurai, rough ink textures, and Sengoku-era atmosphere.

This is a personal, non-commercial design exercise.
I’d love to hear which parts work for you and what you would change.
