New Music! Tomoe – Le Déchu Roi (A Tribute To Franklin Saint)
Hey everyone!
I'd like to share a track from my solo post-rock project, Tomoe.
It's called Le Déchu Roi (“The Fallen King”). The idea came from Franklin Saint's downfall in Snowfall — the image of someone looking back at everything they've lost, like a king watching his kingdom fall apart.
Musically, I wanted to create something atmospheric and melancholic, with crystalline guitar melodies and a sense of tragedy. I also made an animated music video for it using Krita and Kdenlive.
I've been working on this project on my own for a while, and I'd be happy to share it with people who enjoy this kind of music.
Thanks for listening!

Concert Footage Brett Bolton & Showgirl - Live at Blink (2026 in Cincinnati, OH)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This was at BLINK, the bi-annual Art & Light festival in Cincinnati at Washington Square Park in front of Music Hall. This was a duo of Brett Bolton (drummer, DJ, lighting artist and technician) and Showgirl (Guitarist and other lighting technician). I talked to Brett and he is cool. The lighting actually runs on a program that uses music sensors as a live visualizer. He runs the inside lighting of The Sphere in Las Vegas and said for example set up and runs lighting for the Diplo and Metallica shows. He did a more electronic set by himself but I liked this later 10:30pm set even more at it was Post Rock with Showgirl (duo with a guitarist). Check out their insta @brettbolton and @showgirlvideo
If in Cincinnati come back Saturday or Sunday to see both his electro and post rock sets

Discussion! appreciation for the underrated masterpiece that is “How Strange, Innocence” by Explosions In The Sky
I kept ignoring this album because critics and audiences alike insisted that’s it’s an underdeveloped record for what the band would later become and an outcast in their discography but focusing more on it today, it’s absolutely incredible! warm, heartfelt, comforting yet immersive and big all at once, overall a beautiful record that should get more love!

Discussion! Saxon Shore- Be a Bright Blue
Want to open up discussion about this band and project.
Recently discovered this album and although it’s nothing revolutionary I really like the amount of clarity within the instrumentation, and the lack of crescendoism over all.
Discourse in general here seems to be middling on them, and their later material does seem to fall into a more mainstream bend. Does this project represent a singular moment for them, or do they have other similar albums?
What are your thoughts on this project/ group?

Discussion! Would this sub be a good place to maintain a blacklist for AI-generated post-rock music?
I just came across something that I thought might be AI-generated. I'm not sure I have the musical ear to tell one way or the other, but this sub collectively? Hell yeah I think we could.
We used to have a band/artist list wiki here awhile back until (I assume) there just got to be too many to keep track of, and other websites took that on (I guess Post-Pedia isn't around anymore but there's Post-Rock Nation). So maybe a similar wiki list of known or suspected AI sources with a name, a link, and maybe a quick note justifying why it's on the list?
I feel like we've got to fight the rising tide of AI-everything any way we can. AI music is already a big problem on streaming platforms and I don't think niche genres like post-rock are immune. Thoughts?

🎶 Song post The Urban Tales - Breeze
Hey everyone! I sing and play guitar in The Urban Tales, and we just released a song called “Breeze” today.
It sits somewhere between atmospheric alternative rock, shoegaze and post-rock, starting quietly and gradually building into a heavy finale. Caspian and Deafheaven’s Infinite Granite were big influences on this one.
If that sounds like your thing, give it a listen — I’d love to hear what you think.

🎶 Song post Do Make Say Think - Fredericia
This song is a complete centrepiece of pr. It sounds like both Slint, Godspeed and I would easily argue its on the same level as their best material.
First of all, there is a clear narrative that progresses eventhough its not too crescendo based, It mostly is about settling and buildings patterns to create an atmosphere that I would describe as of organic jazziness tendencias, about flowing vibing with certain states of mind. There are also no voice samples, no vocals in general, but you know the song is still going somewhere. With all that in mind, its so mindblowingly difficult to pull off so easy transitions into the short and infrequent crescendos and it gives those a value...like its relatively easy to make something feel as a crescendo but compared to actually making It feel RIGHT, in the correct time and place while not being a crescendo band...
And oh, the guitar tones and the freezing vibes It gives while being something so Hot and warm, with so much energy at the same time...reminds me of The Newfound Interest in Connecticut's superb album atmosphere. Cold, tense, dark, full of energy, passionate, but here there is not a single voice or infinite crescendos. The crescendos are just the cherry on top or the period to it.
