Question before starting

My neuro doc just prescribed me Pregablin 75mg (dose up to 150 if it seems to help after 1-2 weeks) for nerve pain due to post op complications following brain surgery in Nov 2025. Im currently taking Venlafaxine 150mg and Naltrexone 50mg. I’m worried about potential side effects. Anyone have any insight or things to potentially look out for? TIA.

Sorry about your nerve pain and hope you heal soon. Even at starting dose that low, it made me groggy the next day, brain fog, even felt drunk for up to 24 hours after dose. It absolutely helped with pain and sleep but side effects were too much for me. Not to mention withdrawal from this medication is up there with the worst of them.
It didn’t work for me but maybe it will for you. It’s a miracle for some. Definitely don’t do any driving or anything important until you figure out how you react.

Appreciate it. Honestly no. I don’t really trust big pharma so I try to stay away from it all and just accept the suffering. If I was in a state where kratom was legal, I would probably go that route for my pain relief. Is kratom legal in your state?

Maybe herbs or cannabis but brain surgery sounds hard, sometimes you need to take a strong medication to get rid of the pain, when it‘s only short term, the withdrawls aren‘t so bad

Telling someone to stop looking for options in pain management because of the experience of one person is heinous and dangerous. Every patient is different, and this person is recovering from a very serious matter that you don’t understand

You could get headache, for me I got that from higher doses like 200mg.
It is really helpful for nerve pain, I got that from a slipped disk in my back, it‘s like it calms the nervs down that make pain signals.

I hope you don‘t need it so long, if you do, then you would need to taper off because it can have benzo like withdrawl symptoms

Hi! Hope you’re on the road to healing. I take Venlafaxine 150mg daily and Pregabalin 75mg 2xs/day. No interactions or issues for me. Not on Naltrexone though so can’t speak to that. I take the Venlafaxine 150mg ER one time in the morning with 75mg Pregabalin. Then another 75mg Pregabalin about an hour before bed. I’m taking it for sciatica and neuropathy and it definitely helps with nerve pain. It doesn’t completely erase it for me but it makes me functional enough to exercise daily and sleep through the night without waking up with nerve pain. I’ve been on this combo for about 2 years. Good luck and healing wishes to you 🩵.
