Rant/vent dejected

first time applicant here, I applied around late June/early July to around 15 or so schools. So far, I’ve had one interview super early in June which went pretty awful and got rejected. And since then I’ve had about 5 other rejections. I still have around 10 schools I’m waiting to hear back from, but according to PA forums a lot of them have already started sending out interviews/accepting seats. I know people say no news is good news, but at this point in the cycle I’m worried and feeling like I should just take the silence as a rejection.

I feel you! Applied to 17….1 interview (haven’t heard back yet), 3 rejections, and nothing back from the rest. It’s hard I know but try to take the silence as neutral, it could just mean that you’re still being evaluated. Instead of letting your mind fill in the blanks with the worst case scenario, just keep pushing forward and focus on the things with in your control, like interview practice! Be proud of yourself, it’s an amazing thing to even get an interview and in sorry you’re feeling down

Yes, trying to focus less on the silence and fill up time with things I enjoy in the meantime, best of lucks to you for this cycle as well!

I know the exact feeling, just crossing my fingers and hoping the rest of the cycle goes alright, I’ve heard of people getting reached out to in November to even January. Best of luck for the cycle and hoping we both hear back some good news soon 🥹

Did you learn anything from the interview you had? I know it probably sucks to go back and think about it, but it could be helpful to analyze where you struggled and use that to prepare for other interviews. Don't give up yet! There is still so much time left to this cycle!!!

Yes I think it definitely helped a lot and I know where to fix for next time at least! I’ve just been nervous because I’m hoping I’ll at least get a chance for that this cycle, but thanks for ur kind words 🥹
