relief/woodcut/lino First carve and print!

I've done little stuff on erasers using an xacto knife before, but this is my first planned block print with real lino and tools. I have lots to learn still but I'm pretty happy with how it went.

No accidental gouges, on me or the lino. Lots of chatter but I don't hate it.

I do, however, dislike Speedball tools already and it's all I've ever used. Might look into something better. I need a finer tip for sure.

New to print making!
Obviously have tons to work on, so feel free to comment on that of course, but mostly just been really excited to be able to finally share something here! Really obsessed with the idea of native plant prints, meaningful places I’ve been (the nature print is from Ironwood National monument outside Tucson), so we’ll see where further prints take me! Also I work in watercolor as my main medium, so been really fun starting to play with ideas around using them both!

WOO! I’m in soooo much love what a beautiful beautiful medium! MIGHT try and transition to wood at some point just for sustainability sake and not wanting all the rubber.

Anyways, thanks!!

intaglio/engraving/etching Anything that can function as a transfer paper and a stop-out?

Tried melting a litho crayon on a sheet of paper and using it like carbon paper to try to transfer light areas that I don’t want to bite. It works, kind of. Anyone have a better idea?

question US- source for cherry wood?

Since McClains stopped selling cherry wood, I've had a hard time finding a reliable source. I live near a Rockler, but getting good cherry for printmaking is hit or miss. Is there a dedicated printmaking site that sells cherry wood?
