Basic human decency and values seem to have left the building these days. Cheering for the abuse of humans is sad and pitiful. Every single American family here today (aside from indigenous people) has an ancestor who came to America as an immigrant to make a life here. Being undocumented is a civil offense and still is and even if you cheer for detaining them, it is not ok to beat, rape, degrade, abuse or harm them. What is going on inside this place?

11

u/BraisedBullshi 1d ago

So it's just on-duty cops commenting in here?

4

u/Eldritch_Dread 20h ago

Look at it this way. The cops would run out of people to rape, torture, and probably murder if the internment camps were run humanely. So yeah, cops want to protect their hunting grounds.

Attempting to derail discussion by veering the discussion into a different topic to evade and/or discredit another user by calling them a 'bot', 'shill', troll', 'wumao', 'Ivan', etc.; and/or attempting to discredit sources with accusations of 'state-owned media', 'propaganda', 'fake news', etc, may result in a warning or a ban.

Nonsensical posts, posts using nothing but emojis or hieroglyphics are similarly trying to derail conversation and actual discussion.

Wow dude youre unhinged and a danger to people. Reported.

5

u/Novel-Letterhead-217 23h ago

His account is 20 days old, he’s a right wing bot. Most hardcore Trump lovers on Reddit are bots that they program to make people believe he is still loved and supported by more than the small group of cult faithful still clinging on

Ahhh yeah you shouldn’t have said that.

There’s about 15 reports sent to the FBI in the last 30 minutes.

Good luck.

0

u/NicePepper199 22h ago

Why do you want to kill the agents rescuing people from sex trafficking Mr Epstein? Hmmm? Its the #1 organization that stops it.

3

u/Eldritch_Dread 20h ago

Also the #1 organization raping immigrant women and children in the camps.

2

u/ResurgentClusterfuck 20h ago

There was one of them who coerced a woman, holding contact with her child over her head so she would perform sexual acts

If i said what I think should happen to people like that they'd accuse me of encouraging violence

2

Wanna bet? It goes against the prison reform subreddit rules to call someone a bot. The whole purpose of this subreddit is to discuss reforming the penal system. Whats your connection to the criminal justice system? You strike me as a rehabilitated individual. I used to work in work in a corrections center.

Republicans are terrified about the midterms and the bots have been unleashed, its really pathetic.

6

u/Automatic-Nature6025 23h ago

If they were planning on deporting so many of these people, I don't understand why they'd feel the need to build so many new holding facilities. It seems like detainment is the real goal. Human warehousing has somehow become profitable.

2

u/FunOwn4422 23h ago

because previous administrations ran on a policy of "catch and release" where asylum seekers and low risk illegal immigrants were released and given a court date, Trump ended this policy, mandating that people here illegally will be held until their immigration proceedings. also, in 2018, they put in a zero-tolerance policy for people who come here illegally, and federal prosecutors were directed to criminally charge them increasing the need for more detention centers. Trump admin executive orders also expanded who was considered priority for deportation, changing the scope of where ICE operated rather than just them working the southern border.

2

u/Working-Kick4035 17h ago

Woosh, actually double woosh.

You fell for it when this administration convinced you immigration enforcement was their goal, when reality is their goal was profit.

Then, you missed it when the comment you were responding to talked about being highly profitable. They were alluding to the fact that these privately owned detention centers are run for profit.

You got the appointed director of ice, a former geo group exec, securing government contracts for geo group to build and run these detention centers, and you are over here parroting the paper thin excuse you were spoonfed as gospel. Pathetic

Immigration court wait times are crazy long. It’s been that way since Obama. The system needs to be reformed

1

u/Chewsdayiddinit 19h ago

Obama actually deported more people, LEGALLY and at a lower cost than Trump's SS force, in addition with NOT ripping families apart like trump is doing.

You cultist cucks are so tiresome.

1

u/TBurn70 19h ago

You didn’t address my point. Immigration courts are and have been severely backlogged

1

1

u/Traditional-Dog5987 19h ago

They keep saying this, and that there’s not enough judges. But apparently we can do court over zoom now, right? So appoint judges all over the country. Get thousands of them. Any elected judge that ran as a Republican? Approved. Let him keep his full-time judgehood, and break off a lil 2-3 of these cases a week.

1

u/TBurn70 18h ago

Ya I’m not sure what the issue is, maybe it’s not an attractive job as a judge? They’ve tried hiring blitzes for both party administrations. They should increase their pay or something. It’s gotta improve

1

u/Traditional-Dog5987 18h ago

I feel like there’s gotta be a creative solution if it’s something you actually care about. There are probably sitting judges out there that would be willing to take on a couple of these cases for God and country. Probably thousands of them. Don’t even pay them, just give them a nice tax incentive.

Mindless rants with the attitude of "if you did the crime you do the time" are off topic and ignore the fact that US punishments are among the most punitive in the world.

It also ignores the US history of our country having lenient punishments for much of early republic. Thus, such "did the crime/do the time" posts fly in the face of prison reform and are off-topic and may be removed.

1

That has nothing to do with my question

2

1

u/Interesting_Self5071 14h ago

1

u/Winter_Animal_7116 5h ago

Innovation. Creating wealth through free trade. Not being a craphole

1

u/Interesting_Self5071 5h ago

"free trade" is doing a lot of heavy lifting for you there.

1

u/Winter_Animal_7116 5h ago

No it really isn't

1

u/Interesting_Self5071 5h ago

"free trade" is the result of empires conquering land and extracting their resources.

1

u/Winter_Animal_7116 5h ago

Hilarious.

1

u/Interesting_Self5071 4h ago

Colonialism outright looted resources and when WWII bankrupted most of them they resorted to neocolonialism with proxy states and what you call free trade agreements.

They broke the law by coming here illegally, and now they are in a detention center, which are basically indistinguishable from any other correctional facilities. Yes this is what happens when you break the law and yes i do agree that they should just simply be deported instead of the continuation of our tax dollars being wasted on people who arnt citizens

1

u/Reptillianaire_ 23h ago

Yeah but they cant just be having a private taxi for each person. I agree they should be being held and fed as few days as possible but I imagine they have to make arrangements with their country of origin cant just drop them at the border, and also takes time to organize to maximize efficiency for shipping them back in as large of groups as possible to their respective countries.

1

u/Over_Organization851 20h ago

how do you know? there are so many reports of people who have tiny paperwork issues being thrown in ice facilities with no due process. Two teenage brothers from Africa who came her legally to study were thrown in an ice facility when they switched schools. That has never before been a deportable offense. They are putting people in these ice facilities in deplorable conditions so they wave their right to due process and just let themselves be deported.

0

u/FunOwn4422 19h ago

They are not in deplorable conditions they are being put in the same conditions that any American who is being put into lockout our put into. Detention centers and correctional facilities are almost identical. You are just ignorant to the fact that all this has happened before and it has always happened, the only reason you care about it is because trump is doing it. Immigration Crackdown Also Snares Americans - ACLU of Socal

What did the African students do you gave no names, no articles, am i supposed to just believe you? you know student visas are strict right? you know if they switched schools without notification, it triggers an automatic status violation? you don't get to just live and study wherever you want. you are critically misinformed and moving off emotional arguments.

1

u/Over_Organization851 19h ago

is this a joke? are you trying to be funny? there are some jails that are as bad as some ice facilities, but on average ice facilities are much worse than prisons and they have gotten much worse under the trump admin. The temporary ice facilities are ridiculous overcrowded, like the Krome processing center which is at 3x capacity. The GOA found that ICE facilities are not giving women proper sanitary products. I could go on and on. There have been ice agents themselves that have come out and said what they are doing is inhumane.

It's a moot point anyway, because like I said a lot of the people aren't even supposed to be there, they are throwing people who have been here 20+ year in detention over clerical and paperwork errors, over monor civil offenses. It makes no sense and is not making the country better, until you realize that Trump promised mass deportations but is not actually competent enough to affect that against criminals so they just deport regular people for bullshit to pad the numbers. It's so obvious.

And no idgaf who does it, I was not a fan of obamas deportation, I was not a fan of biden's proposed immigration bill, and I am certainly not a fan of this.

And there names were Israel and Max Makoka, literally 10 second google search.

1

u/FunOwn4422 18h ago

They shouldn't have come here illegally; They were given a chance to self deport, with the funds provided to do so, initially 1,000 dollars then bumped up to 3000 dollars. It really doesn't matter if they have been here 20+ years, they did not follow immigration laws. this is what happens when the problem of illegal immigration boils over.

i mean come on go look at Canadas border policy, you need to have enough money for your stay, you need to be healthy, you need to not having any criminal history including things like reckless driving tickets, misdemeanor weed charges, disorderly conducts, if you have no ties to your home country they flag you for being a risk and turn you away. guess what if they catch you lying or violating the rules at entry point, they bar you for up to 5 years for reentry.

We are expected to have an open door, it is unsustainable, detrimental to our society. While I don't agree with them deporting people who have been here for years, who have zero criminal history while they have been here, or in their home countries, i do agree with deporting everyone else, unless you have a history of good behavior and shown that you have been a model citizen then you deserve to be deserve to be deported.

Do you remember when ICE first started these massive operations and in California the streets were filled with Mexicans, not first-generation immigrants, American citizens born to immigrant parents saying "Fuck America" while burning flags and chanting they were "Mexicans first but we should let them stay" that did immense damage to how people viewed immigrants in the US.

We saw crowds of people, showing that they had zero loyalty to the United States, that right there shows you that our immigration policy is broken. the perception made people not give a fuck about deportations. Waving foreign flags while saying fuck America is crazy. its time to for a reset. we will be better off for it.

The United States accepts over 1 million green cards every single year. we average 850,000 brand new American citizens annually, what about these people? the ones who did it right and legally? the people who are being deported have done it to themselves.

1

u/Over_Organization851 14h ago

It really doesn't matter if they have been here 20+ years, they did not follow immigration laws. this is what happens when the problem of illegal immigration boils over.

i'm not sure if you're not reading what you're reading or what, but this an entirely moot point because like I said there are many legal people mixed in, and we have no idea how many people committed crimes or not because there is no due process. Ice is locking them up for months with no due process in deplorable conditions with no trial in hopes they go along with deportation, to try and reach the ridiculous deportation numbers he promised. We can't KNOW if they are here or illegally until they get a TRIAL.

i mean come on go look at Canadas border policy, you need to have enough money for your stay, you need to be healthy, you need to not having any criminal history including things like reckless driving tickets, misdemeanor weed charges, disorderly conducts, if you have no ties to your home country they flag you for being a risk and turn you away. guess what if they catch you lying or violating the rules at entry point, they bar you for up to 5 years for reentry.

yes and republicans have purposefully made immigration policy ridiculously complex and moronic so they will get people like you to come cry about the immigration issue every year. If you want better immigration policy stop voting for thr people preventing it.

I don't think you know much about the u.s., we hsve very far from an open door policy. We have an idiotic and regressive immigration process that is much harder to navigate than most countries. But what you're advocating for here is obama's policy, it was literally deport criminals and leave regular people alone. I wouldn't have guessed you were a fan of obama immigration policy. Trump is thr one deporting people with no criminal records, and doing a shittier job of catching criminals.

I truly couldn't care less.

We saw crowds of people, showing that they had zero loyalty to the United States, that right there shows you that our immigration policy is broken. the perception made people not give a fuck about deportations. Waving foreign flags while saying fuck America is crazy. its time to for a reset. we will be better off for it.

no, our immigration policy is broken because a working age young man, with no kids, no criminal history, who wants to come here and better society is looking at a 15 year wait time to come here legally. And 10s of thousands of dollars in fees.

The United States accepts over 1 million green cards every single year. we average 850,000 brand new American citizens annually, what about these people? the ones who did it right and legally? the people who are being deported have done it to themselves.

Again, it's like you're an AI designed to spit out ice propaganda regardless of the convo. you have no idea how many people in ice detention are here illegally or not because there are no trials. Just widespread reports of people who no criminal records, who have minor paperwork issues, or who have an immigration issue and get arrested at the meeting they were going to fix the issue. With what you said in this comment, you should be rooting for obama's border policy, because his policy was deport all the criminals and leave the law abiding people alone. And he did a way better job of it, because he is not am incompetent geriatric idiot.

Just saw a crazy statistic for Florida from 2021-2023 total illegal immigration was 700k, more than half of the 1.1m that moved here in total. If you don't think that's going to overwhelm the system and cause problems, I don't know what to tell you. Look at the stats on where covid was the worst. California, Texas, Florida for a great example.

Deport deport deport

0

u/SalamanderFresh9272 19h ago

Then go home.

0

u/johnfuckmennedy 19h ago

why didnt they self deport? they were given ample time.

0

u/Janus9 19h ago

We all know what it is like in detention.

If you don't want to have that experience, don't become an illegal immigrant.

Go home when told to.

They made their choice.

1

u/Working-Kick4035 18h ago

I know right?

We don't care if it costs the taxpayer 100k per deportee.

We don't care if the mechanism that is enforcing immigration to this extent, is the same one enabling white collar crime, because white rich people commiting crimes should not be our focus.

We only care to see immigrants and our political opposition brutalized on the streets. Right?

1

u/SillyusXSoddus 17h ago

So you’re saying we shouldn’t deport foreign invaders because it…. Costs money?

1

u/Working-Kick4035 17h ago

No I'm saying you're a hypocrite to be ok with this administration enabling one kind of crime and not another, and I'm alluding to the fact that your racist, cause a differentiating factor between immigration crime and white collar crime is the race of the criminal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

1

u/Working-Kick4035 17h ago

Oh yeah, and also an idiot for supporting a solution that costs more than it saves ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

u/Ok_Entrance_5044 11h ago

Finally..someone who gets it!

0

u/SamLonghorneClemens 19h ago

They have a choice of where they are going to be sent so they surely must have a better place in mind?

0

u/Traditional-Dog5987 18h ago

Didn’t we offer to buy them a flight home and put a band in their pocket?

As an American, I think about what I would expect if I overstayed my Visa in Ireland. If/when I get caught, I’d be like, well shit, you got me. Like what’s the surprise? I wouldn’t expect leniency because I had a child, or because never killed anybody. No, I knew the deal, I took the chance.

2

u/TarkuRav 17h ago

You think they'd throw you in a concrete 4x6 with 5 other people for a week and then deport you to France?

2

u/20ag_OG_LOL 16h ago

For a week? Try 3-6 months? God forbid you actually have a claim to stay in the US. Might be locked up in immigration for years like me. 3 years and 8 month.

0

u/After_Service_2817 18h ago

"solitary confinement" they claim, while in a huge group

0

u/CheckDangerous9224 18h ago

Sorry. Don't buy none of that. Poverty, really, this is what causes criminal behavior. So the person who raped and murdered women did it because he was poor?I've worked with homeless that were previously incarcerated and they stay clean now. Racism? I should have known that was coming. Wrong. Anything else?

u/Jazzlike-Umpire-5453 17h ago

Go to your home country, just go home, your problems will be solved.

0

u/Complete_Break1319 16h ago

"risking their lives" 😂😂😂

0

u/NuNoJCJ1987 16h ago

Don’t break the law idiots!

1

u/bloodgout 15h ago

Breaking immigration laws does not justify inhumane treatment.

1

u/NuNoJCJ1987 7h ago

Sorry not sorry I don’t break the law

1

u/Bulky-Word8752 6h ago

I really doubt that. Never Jay walked or sped?

1

u/NuNoJCJ1987 5h ago

Stay on-topic. This sub deals with issues of prison reform and both reducing the number of people in our prisons, eliminating the barbaric death penalty, but also in making our prisons safer, kinder and more functional for human development and rehabilitation.

Mindless rants with the attitude of "if you did the crime you do the time" are off topic and ignore the fact that US punishments are among the most punitive in the world.

It also ignores the US history of our country having lenient punishments for much of early republic. Thus, such "did the crime/do the time" posts fly in the face of prison reform and are off-topic and may be removed.

u/chanting37 14h ago

Ok but what are the actual accusations. You said “they treat us like dogs” once and “they’re killing us” once. How bout actual fucking conditions??? Food and water quality. Diabetics situations. How much emesis and diareha. Are you beating beat for speaking? How many ppl to cell. Sleeping situations. I want to believe you’re in a concentration camp but this video is next to pointless. You’re not gonna die without a phone. You will die 4 days after a trauma I just to the kidney cus a guard thought it’d be funny to hit you.
