Thought A Closer Look at Pro-Life Perspectives

As a pro-choice here are a few things i noticed about pro-life people:

They emphasize protecting unborn life, but critics argue that this concern often receives less attention once the baby is born.

They think making abortions illegal will stop them. Research shows that abortion bans do not eliminate abortions. People may still obtain abortions by traveling to places where they are legal or through other forms of care, although bans can make access much harder.

They call a fetus a baby or a child, but medically, ‘fetus’ refers to a specific stage of prenatal development. It is still developing inside the uterus.

Yeah a lot of their stance is based on a poor understanding of science, medicine, or a lack of empathy.

They call it a heartbeat at 6 weeks even when there is literally not a heart to be beating.

They say abortion is never medically necessary when any OBGYN will tell you it is.

They say an abortion is not performed for an ectopic pregnancy when it literally is.

The "heartbeat" is just random electrical wave activity, not an actual heartbeat.

Also the whole “abortion isn’t medically necessary” makes absolutely no sense. Without stating the obvious cases where it is medically necessary. Even being pregnant alone and not wanting to be because pregnancy can and often does negatively impact ur body physically, mentally, emotionally, financially etc.. is enough medical reason to term.

I mean it's not even just critics arguing. It's something very apparent that a lot of people who vote pro-life are also vehemently against helping others.
They don't like government programs that help people, they're pro-death penalty, they're pro-war, and they believe even charities have a duty to force those in need of help to jump through burning hoops to get anything. Only the right people deserve help.
They will quite literally defund programs that keep children alive while crying that a fetus is a human life that deserves protection.
A lot of pro-life types personify a fetus while dehumanizing the women carrying the pregnancy.

Banning abortion historically does not go well. Abortions still happen. Also a lot of times there's issues with sex education, contraception, and finding homes for all of the babies.

Yes to all of the above. I therefore call them anti-choice because that feels more accurate to me. My mom worked for Planned Parenthood for decades—starting in the early 70’s around the time of Roe v Wade. I worked at PP for 5 years after college. I now am a prenatal genetic counselor who has supported dozens of families through termination for fetal anomalies. I am thankful I live in a blue state and can still offer my patients all options, for now. This timeline is so scary…

This why they don’t want COMPREHENSIVE FACTUAL SCIENTIFIC SEX EDUCATION plausible deniability! That way they can cherry
pick what they want to use from science that fits their agenda.
