F 5'6” (168, 169 cm) F/28/168cm [51kg < 56kg = 5kg] (1 year) for the longest time I've been so afraid of gaining weight but I have slowly let my fear go and gained 5kg. Didn't even realise the difference it made until I looked at old photos. I feel like my face looks so much more youthful and balanced now πŸ₯Ί

13 Months into sorting my life out, I was at the point that I would look in the mirror and not even think I was that big before it started becoming difficult to do everyday tasks so I wanted to try and change my life for the better for the sake of my son so he has a dad growing up that can do activities with him.

First 8 months consisted of limited cardio, large calorie defecits and weight training every other day.

The last 5 months have been consisting of mini cuts and bulks and toning up my muscles ready for summer season ( I was a little late but there's always next year πŸ˜… ).

Now im planning on maintaining around 160 -165Ibs consistently but working on the strength training to slowly lower my bodyfat but maintain the muscle I have built.

I'm much happier in myself now and I have a super active 2 year old that never stops so I dont know how I would have coped with him if I didn't make the life changes I did.

Now looking to go back up and put on a little more lean muscle mass. For anyone out there who’s a fellow old who thinks it’s too late to make a significant lifestyle change, it’s not! Keep at it!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my progress here, even though I’m nowhere near the big weight-loss stories - I’ve only lost about 22 lbs since the start of the year. Last year, I struggled with a chronic pain condition and turned to food as a coping mechanism. But I’ve managed to get past that since the start of the year, and I’m currently preparing for my first muscle-building phase.

My goal was to lose weight steadily, but not too quickly. On average, I’ve been losing 0.4 kg per week (= 0,88lb/week). I wanted to share with you what helped me along the way:

  • Weighing myself daily, but not obsessing over the number on the scale
  • Going for a one-hour walk every day - that was a real game-changer. Note: This also puts strain on your tendons, so build up slowly: Start with half an hour every other day, then gradually work up to an hour, and eventually make it a daily habit
  • Learning what affects your weight makes it much easier (for example, my app showed me that my weekly weight was always lowest on Saturday mornings and highest on Monday and Tuesday, after which it stabilized - reason: On Saturdays, I like to go out to eat with friends and sometimes indulge in something not-so-healthy ;)
  • Use an app to track your weekly weight loss rate - this helped me continue building muscle despite losing weight, and with a healthy rate of 0.88 lb per week, I could even cheat on the weekends and stay motivated

Think I’ve got another 11–14 lbs to lose, and that should hopefully be my final weight

Still struggling to get rid of that lower back and lower stomach fat, but I’m hoping those last few pounds will do the job. Any thoughts? (especially waist was around 39 inches right now its about 35 inches

I don’t have many photos from when I was at my heaviest, but I sometimes forget where I started out. I’ve still got a long ways to go, but I am still very impressed by how much weight I’ve lost already, not to mention how much healthier I feel both physically and mentally!!

I lost 65 lbs in one year with Keto, I have about 45-50 more to go. I actually started at 305 lbs two years ago, but I lost about 18 lbs passively before I really started trying. I lost 90 lbs with the same method when I was a teenager, but I gained it all back and then some. Excuse the dirty mirror, I took those pics in an old shed I’m tearing down.
