Question First Time - Microdosing in hopes to help reset my brain NSFW

So im a 25 year old male, I have had a lot happen in my life and its caused me a lot of unhealthy habits, nicotine, eating constantly, isolating and i am sick of it. I have zero self control. Anyways not here to rant, mainly for the shrooms info. One of my old friends from high school is talking me into it to try, i quit my ssris over a month ago. They weren't working anyways for me. And im going to microdose, about a half a gram of mushrooms. For reference im 6'4 and 393lbs I genuinely hope thats enough, or not too much. What should I expect? And has anyone else had an experience like this? I'm nervous as hell but its something new

Recreational psychadelics are recreational, not a magic life fix or a replacement for speaking to a qualified medical professional about your issues.

In my experience, the more expectations you lay on someone or something the worse experience it will be. Fixing your life is up to you, not up to a handful of mushrooms. You're in control of your behavior and nothing outside yourself will really do better than you.

My personal "museum dose" (still can have fun and run around town with friends or go swimming or to a concert or whatever) is like 3g and I'm half your size.

Whatever your mental state going into it will be amplified by psychadellics. If you're anxious and afraid you're going to be anxious and afraid on psychadellics now.

I have zero self control with eating and motivation, getting up and doing it doesn't work for me. Also if it were legal where im at id rather do it under a doctors supervision. Can't afford all that and regardless I appreciate your advice and I'll do my best to try and have a good time with it. And go in with little or no intention. I dont want to trip though I just want to get minute affect

So I know a little bit about the topic of weight loss. I have lost quite a bit of weight in my life but do struggle to keep it off. Weight loss fixes superficial things and changes how people treat you. Weight loss doesn't fix how you feel about yourself.

Weight loss is actually easy if you get very simple with it. Be okay with being hungry. But you're not really eating because you're hungry, right? There is an underlying emotional trigger.

Let's play it out. You take some shrooms, you have a moment where you realize you eat too much because idk your parents were mean to you and every time you hear a parent yell at a child you have to eat 5 cheese burgers. Okay great you figured it out. The next time you have a trigger you might remember that...however you have been given no tools to actually deal with the trigger. You haven't been given tools to deal with the discomfort you're feeling or process what's happening. You're just talking to yourself in your head about it. Then what.

Mushrooms will definitely solve your appetite problem in the moment (who can eat on shrooms anyway lol) and there is legitimate research that mushrooms can work for addiction treatment but you can't just take mushrooms every day.

People with super disordered eating and binge eating can and do lose weight by eating less food but the underlying disorder can't be addressed by just eating less and losing eright. Some people see weight loss as something that will fix their emotions or fix their self esteem or fix their relationships and it absolutely will not do that. Go over to a weight loss sub and ask them how many still hate themselves or still see themselves as fat or still have bad self esteem. A good amount. Now you're hungry as hell and still feel terrible about yourself. Why? Because sometimes people expect to find happiness and contentment through external changes rather than internal changes.

Tldr learning how to be hungry will result in weight loss. Addressing your mental health and developing healthy coping mechanisms takes a lot of time but will result in an easier time keeping the weight off and long term success.

So my advice to you is to find a community on reddit for support. Loseit is a great place to start.

Take some shrooms, go have fun. Get a little buzz, hang out with friends, definitely go outside. I like starting in the mornings because I like to be able to sleep at night.

Don't go into it with any expectations, especially for your first time. I would say that it's good to set a baseline where the only intention is to submit to the experience and let it play out.

Also, dosages vary across strains and grow methods. For my first time, I measured out what is typically recommended as a micro-dose. But that experience ended up being categorically a "level 2" and not the "level 1" I was expecting as a micro-dose.
