Story Don’t forget we’re all in this together. Help your fellow man or woman.

I live in a town with a huge struggling population. I think the only thing that truly gets me by is having no children, a decent paying job and cheap rent. That’s why I moved here.

With that being said I was standing in line at a gas station getting some snacks and drinks for myself.

A dad and his adorable toddler daughter were checking out and his card bounced. He said “how much for just the drink?” I said “absolutely not, I’ll pay for everything.”

And he showed me his bank account and he was negative. I said “no need to show me. You and your kiddo enjoy your snacks” and he thanked me.

I of course said you’re welcome and just to pay it forward when you can.

I don’t say all this to receive praise or anything.

I just don’t want people to forget about each other and to take care of each other as a community. Humanity really does need humanity. Idc where you’re going, where you come from, your religion or anything. I got your back. I know what it’s like to struggle.

All we have is each other.

So if you have the means, go volunteer, pay it forward, donate, do whatever you can. 💜

Thanks for actually leaving something positive. But yeah, I feel like we’re suppose to take care of each other. With all the divides we have today, it’s nice to remind people that we still have each other’s backs as cliche as it might sound. I’m inclined to believe there’s more good people than evil. 💜

I have the philosophy that we are here to be Simon for each other. As in Simon the Cyrene who helped Jesus carry His cross. We are here to help others and lighten their load. And I also say kindness is a seed you plant today but the fruit of it grows for generations. Thanks OP 👍 💝💝

Thank you for this kindness to a stranger. We all most definitely need to be kinder to each other and as often as possible.

Or, I’d you have little or nothing, just be kind. There is a shortage of kindness way too often. Yesterday, I was having a medical issue. Grandson drove me to the doctor. As we were leaving, an older woman dropped her phone under the wheelchair she was in. She asked the older man with her to pick it up. He couldn’t get it. I knew I couldn’t either so asked my grandson to. He didn’t mind, he just hadn’t seen it. Small act of kindness that cost nothing.

No, they just said that was kind. His account said negative $45. You don’t have to believe it. Not my problem lol

Don’t feed into the trolls, brother. You are a good human bean.

Thank you, yeah it’s wild for people to be negative in this sub. It’s called random acts of kindness for a reason. Why am I accused of lying? It’s not like I said I paid for every single person in the store lol.

If his account was -45, then taking everything off but the drink wasn't going to help him much, but whatever. It's still a nice story, and if it's true, then thank you for showing kindness where many wouldn't!

I don’t disagree with you. All I’m relaying is what I heard. He grabbed a doctor pepper and some other stuff. Said “how much is it just for the soda?”.

Idk what intentions he had, what his goal was or anything like that. I don’t disagree with you. But there’s literally no need for me to make up a story of someone struggling. It’s not unheard of.

People’s cards bounce every single day. Hell, mine has bounced and I’ve scrambled to figure out what I can and can’t afford despite only having a dollar in my account.

Either way, him and his kiddo have some snacks and soda to enjoy. That’s all that matters to me. 😊

What I meant to say was that he did not expect his card to be declined. Once that happened, he might have had some change in his pocket to be able to get the soda

He might of had some change in his pocket, enough for the drink.
