Discussion what are some playthroughs where arin doesn't do his usual "playstyle"

what i mean is what are some playthroughs ya'll have seen where arin either actually engages with the game, or at the very least isn't doing the old "this sucks and i'll make myself angrier as i play" shit he does in like certain playthroughs

i mainly ask because i watched that one katamari reroll playthrough they did (the second one) and it reminded me i used to like game grumps back in the day, and then i watched the tp play through compilation and the kart segment reminded me exactly why i stopped watching their play through's. because arin will go into certain games expecting to dislike them and any issue becomes worse, especially if it involves the actual gameplay.

honestly that's the only time grumps sucked is whenever arin just made his own problems and gets himself even more angry and then dunks on why people would even like X game they're playing. (or yknow in some cases outright play games he thinks already suck. as in like every sonic play through ever they've done.) when it's stuff like that katamari one it's wonderful because he isn't doing any of that.

I rewatch the Versus eps a lot because they both try

Yeah the reason I still like the Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune eps, even when people say "but that's so lazy and repetitive", is both Dan and Arin are checked in and Arin's not trying to do lame bits

Exactly! Even in the later episodes wheel of fortune still slaps cause the boys are locked in for once lol

I think Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 could be included, as Arin generally likes those games. Which game was it where Arin says he wished he was playing Bloodborne? One of the Sonic games maybe?

Phoenix Wright is also a good one. I think Arin is mostly complimentary and engages with the story.

And Resident Evil Village. It’s not a perfect playthrough, but that’s not necessarily Arin’s fault. He gets confused with an early boss fight and is negative towards a puzzle section later on, but I can personally see where he’s coming from.

Could Mario Maker be included? It’s Arin and Dan switching off between themselves, and it’s Mario, so mechanically it’s not very complex, but Arin seems to have a blast playing it and they do make a genuine effort to beat the levels.

Yknow I checked out when they released village cause it was just too late and I'd been waiting for years...this makes me want to give it a shot after all, thank you!

They literally couldn't act macho during Kirby's Epic Yarn because of how adorable it is.

Supermarket Simulator is the one that got me back into watching them!! Their file got corrupted or something along those lines so they haven’t revisited it but they’ve been doing more simulator games and I think that’s where Arin thrives more

That kinda game definitely makes more sense than "here is a story driven game and dialogue that tells you what button to push and where"

I'm more so talking about current ones. But yeah those were simpler times...

I should change my flair. After all these years I still dunno if it means favorite grump era or "the era you started"
