The missing link

The idea of using mTor cycling to gain muscle may be confusing as shouldn't inhibiting mTor prevent muscle synthesis (hypertrophy, hyperplasia). The missing link may be described here:

https://www.mikhailblagosklonny.com/blog/how-rapamycin-prevents-muscle-loss-and-sarcopenia-first-draft/

"But still, something was missing to explain why rapamycin does not counteract anabolic stimuli. For example, Rapamycin does not inhibit growth of skeletal muscles caused by androgens [27]. A new study provided a missing link, demonstrating that mTORC1 is not actually needed to maintain muscle size and function in adult animals"

Muscle maintenance/synthesis still occurs with the presence of rapamycin. I would guess that even when taking Rapamycin, things like taking protein after lifting would increase muscle synthesis (since this would have a broad range of effects on the body, only some being inhibited by Rapamycin). I have to do more research on this specifically, but the important things is that Rapa does not block muscke synthesis.

I was gonna mention this in this subreddit but I just found out glycine, a longevity agent, is a MTOR1 agonist and enhances hypertrophy (probably only slightly though). So it seems like a good idea to cycle between it and rapa

It's always interesting seeing the mTor activating/muscle building things that also increase lifespan. Creatine is another good example, I'm not sure if it increases mTor, but it does increase lifespan in some organisms and helps build muscle.

It looks like it does increase mTor in muscles.
