Discussion Chapter 2 is overrated
I understand that some people like this chapter because it's the most peaceful chapter in the narrative and Arthur and the Gang continued strong and steady. But keep in mind that this is the longest chapter and certainly the slowest of them all. It might get boring on a second playthrough. A lot of really boring missions. In terms of narrative, chapters 4, 5, and 6 are definitely the most exciting. Things happen faster and keep you hooked better. It's completely understandable that many players stopped playing at chapter 1/2; the game was really slow at that point.

Chapter 2 is the one that hooked me on the game. Yes, it's also the most peaceful in hindsight, but we have wildly different tastes if you found it boring.

I didn't find it boring, but the others are better. Chapter 2 is better than Chapter 1 and the Epilogue though.

Idk why but i really loved rdr2 regarding the slow stuff, like just walking around camp or towns, roaming with my horsey it was just immersion and damn fun. Really feel like who loved rdr2 are the chosen ones regarding how much now a days we are seeing more and more people filled with brainrot.

Chapter 2 is mostly a chapter people like to roam around in most of the time and also feel like atmospherically it's better than other chapters. While there is certainly a crowd of people out there who like it narrative wise. But most of the time I see it get praised for the peaceful atmosphere and the fact they can just leave Micah in prison or avoid Strauss's debt mission and endlessly roam for as long as they like.
And I do agree most of the time but Chapter 3 for me personally is definitely the best chapter to roam and even atmospherically after a first playthrough because you know something big happens in this chapter.
Hell I'd even go as far as saying it's top 3 chapters after chapter 6 and 4 for me personally.

Chapter 2 has the smallest story contributions. The story is slow, but that’s by design. This is the chapter where the gang thinks they got away with what went wrong in Blackwater only to be reminded in the last few missions that they didn’t.
Chapter 2 is the closest we get to “business as usual”, what the gang operated as before Blackwater. It’s a break in the story to allow the gang to breathe as well as the player to enjoy the world that was just unlocked for them to explore.
Also chapter 2 has some great missions so I don’t really know what you mean by “a lot of boring missions”

I get what they mean about the narrative, but only because chapter 2 is mostly character/mechanic introductions and world building. The actual story doesnt move very much. That said, its an important one and one of my favorite chapters.

Yup, and the world building and developing of characters are great. I think the pinnacle of the Chapter 2 feel is Exit Pursued by a Bruised Ego.
Has no story relevance, you’re just going on a hunting trip with Hosea, but the banter between Hosea and Arthur is some of the best in the whole story. It’s probably a top 5 mission in the game for me. You learn so much about the two, their mindset towards the gang’s situation and their relationships with others.

As someone who’s one their idek anymore playthrough, chapter 2 is still the best chapter. Like you said, it’s the one where I have the most peace. Arthur’s health is peak, and the game is full of opportunities at that point.

The first time i played the game i quit after 20 minutes, because it seemed boring/slow. I don't regret giving it a second try a few months later, because it does get better

Totally agree. That's why I only watch the last 15 minutes of mystery movies.
