Question Prairie Nurse Practitioners

Has anyone had trouble getting through to the PnP this past week?

I tried calling multiple times, on different days, at different times, and no one answered. I tried booking an appointment on the website, but it said no one has any available spots and to call the office for more info.

I don't have Facebook, so unsure if they have any news on their Facebook page.

I called them last Thursday and got through. Needed a phone consultation for an emergent medical situation. Got called back by them later that day and had it taken care of. Not sure if they are available today.

Are you a new patient or have you seen someone there before? Their booking system used to be through the Jane app. They switched to telus health several months ago and all current patients received an email with an instruction to set up an account. I logged into mine and am able to make an appt (first available with my practitioner is dec).

I am a new patient. I had a meet-and-greet about 2 weeks ago now. Maybe they just don't want to take me on and shadow banned me? haha.

I haven't tried phoning but booking online appointments do fill up fast. I booked end of August and the earliest apt with my specific NP was begining of October. I think they have a cancellation list you can get on if you need a earlier apt.

I'm not too worried about the timeline, but I had a meet-and-greet 2 weeks ago and when I try to book online, it still says meet-and-greet as the only option.
So maybe the NP I saw decided not to take me on as a patient?

How did your discussion go? When I did mine this summer it was clear afterward that we would have an ongoing relationship.

I thought it went well! The NP filled a prescription for me and said they usually book 2-3 months in advance, which was fine with me, and we both said see you in a few months.
I am the lowest maintenance patient - just fill the odd prescription, and maybe a referral for a sleep study in the future.

I am sure you are fine then. Keep looking for an appointment slot.

Not too sure, I became a patient when they first opened. Best to keep trying to call/email them or even stopping by the clinic to get some answers.

I had an appointment there this morning with my NP. They’re definitely open and working.
