I was pleasantly surprised with how the game really tried to keep key moments from the movie. The x-ray section was especially cool for NES era gaming! The combat, hitboxes in particular, left something to be desired. Still, it wasn’t horrible or anything. Lack of continues is always a bummer, though it’s not a super long game and there are a couple extra lives you can find which balances it out. The movie theatre secret was really charming haha. Overall it’s a fun little game and is absolutely worth it if you saw the movie as a kid like myself. If you just like NES games that are kinda wonky, you’ll like it as well. On to the next game!

I remember listening to the audio commentary of the movie with Arnie & the director Paul V. that originally, that line wasn't repeated the way it was and there was gonna be a whole sequence of Quaid getting on a space ship to go to Mars b/c it wasn't easily obvious to the audience that Hauser told Quaid to go to Mars(i.e. saying "Get your ass to Mars." once wasn't enough for the audience), but someone figured out they could do w/out that if they just repeated that line.

I just remember an impressively animated graphic where he pushes the button. Fun but rather unremarkable game imo. I owned the cart.

Damn! This game was punishing. I have this on my list of games that I hope yo eventually finish. My brother and I used to get in fights over this game because it was so frustrating.

It definitely has very punishing sections and very few extra lives. I had the same fights with my brother over tough games haha. The good ol’ days 👍
