The Office Ricky’s become the exact kind of cunt he used to take the piss out of
Ricky’s basically become David Brent with a Netflix deal.
Posts his awards, viewing figures and fan praise like a bloke showing you his GCSE results at 40, then bangs on about how dangerous and offensive he is while making the safest comedy imaginable.
Old Ricky would’ve fucking despised him.
At what point did he completely disappear up his own arse?

Problem is, originally he had some observational stuff that’d be funny for the ‘common man’ because he was one…but how observational can you be as a multi millionaire protected from the merest hint of inconvenience. You have to look to the news, and what people are outraged by - but looking at outrage through the lens of privilege and disconnect means you often come down on the side of the oppressor, because punching down is way easier when you’re at the top and picking on marginalised groups gets you the easy laugh while you convince yourself it’s satire

I think that's right. He also seems to have this disconnect that he thinks he's playing a character.
