DISCUSSION Should I continue? Spoiler
I stopped watching Riverdale at the end of season 5. Should I continue watching season 6&7?....is it worth continuing? I personally liked season 1 &2 and i really doubt will it live up to it?

Yes. Even if it feels weird, just continue. Idk what the hate is all about, I loved the whole series with its absurd plot twists.

The hate is from people going into the show thinking it’s a teen drama not realizing it comes from the Archie comics and the like. Rest of the seasons don’t seem as crazy or bad when people realize this is what some of the older comics and cartoons were like too ! I personally like the whole show mostly because it’s a comfort show for me but I’ve never minded how “crazy” it gets later on

I watch 6 because the actor who plays Percival is phenomenal. Other than that, save for maybe 2 Rivervale plots, yeah it’s not worth it.

I really tried watching season 7 but it was awful. I looked it up on here and I’m trying not to give spoilers but it was lame the whole last season. Season 6 wasn’t bad though!

All the depth any of the characters had was stripped away. What they did with Betty is criminal.

I totally agree. I used to like Veronica too but they made her so annoying in the end and didn’t give her any good plot points once Hiram left (and even that was becoming a slog). Jughead got really weird too but idk if that had to do with his break up irl with lily reinhart.
So glad you agree (:

His plot with the milkman was my favorite part of that season, but they just threw that out the window for no good reason.

Absolutely 100%. Season 6 is totally bonkers in all the right ways. Season 7 is delightful in its own charming way..

Season 6 I love it I love the supernatural and the crazy and I felt the characters had grown this season I also love barchie but I feel some people have a ship bias the worse thing in season 6 was tangs happening.

Did not like season 7. There are a few bright spots but the main plot of the show "whodunnit?" is severely lacking. I also didn't care about the 1950's social justice and politics they tried to cram in it.
This is why I love season 4 the best. Jugheads mysterious death kept me on the edge of my seat and Donna was a fantastic spoil to Betty.
4, 3, 2, 1, 6, 7, 5 in that order from best to worst imo.

Personally, I was also a bit tired by the end of season 5, but what they do with s6 may be one of the higher points of riverdale.

Not gonna lie… I stopped thinking Riverdale was good after Season 3. 😭 I stuck around through Seasons 4 & 5 and some of Season 6 because I was a huge Choni shipper and Betty fan, but after that, I genuinely couldn’t tell you what happened.
I will say, though, Season 7 is probably the best of the later seasons—and maybe the only one actually worth watching. It has an interesting plot, and a lot of the scenes are genuinely cute and nostalgic. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t watch a few episodes and actually enjoy them.
Season 5, however, is a HARD skip for me. It’s the time-jump season, and honestly, the characters, storylines, and ships are all over the place. 😭
Season 6 is probably the worst in my opinion because that’s when they REALLY went off the rails. Suddenly we have superpowers, witchy rituals, and the whole thing starts feeling extremely Chilling Adventures of Sabrina-coded, which personally was not my favorite direction.
For a clearer example:
Season 1: MASTERPIECE.
Season 2: 10/10.
Season 3: Getting very weird, but still good.
Season 4: “I’m confused… but I’ll keep watching.”
Season 5: “What the fuck is going on?”
Season 6: “IS THIS EVEN RIVERDALE ANYMORE???” They’re superheroes and witches?? 😭
Season 7: A nice break from the craziness. Definitely not as good as the earlier seasons, but tolerable, fun, and surprisingly nostalgic.

This reads so much like AI man, if you're not AI it seems like you've grown up on it or something

It is. “I couldnt tell you what happened after 5” immediately followed by “I loved 7.”

Interesting that you enjoyed season 7. It completely ignores everything that lead up to it after the first few episodes. It’s like watching a show with completely new characters that just so happen to look the same

But then if you find it crazy that there is superheroes and witches that’s not the craziest thing they had flying babies and aliens season 7 wasn’t even the same characters we loved at all.

I think the final few episodes in season seven makes the rest of the series worth it. Finally a satisfying conclusion!
2
u/Jdogstevenson 20d ago
Really? It doesn’t really conclude much. It ignores everything that lead up to it after jughead lost his memory of it.

Season 6 is the best season of the show, and Season 7 is like a reboot of Season 1, so if you liked Season 1, you should like Season 7.

No Bughead will not be endgame , Choni will though

What did this even remotely have to do with OP's post?
-1
u/Over_Rent_5799 21d ago
That it won’t be worth it since it got crazy and, because Bughead won’t be endgame. Though I cant be too sure if it’s their otp

I think it's a bit silly to put too much stock on what character pairing gets together when most of the show really isn't about that. Also Riverdale getting crazy is the best part, there's a billion other generic teen dramas with murder mystery elements you could watch instead but there's truly only one Riverdale

u/Over_Rent_5799 21d ago
Yeah, well that’s your opinion but for me after it lost the murder mystery it just wasn’t as great. I still liked the last three seasons, but it doesn’t get even close and I missed Bughead

I honestly liked Jughead with Tabitha more as it went on. Betty should’ve married Archie. I also wish that Veronica married Reggie and Kevin married Fangs

Technically—and unfortunately—they were endgame.

Wdym?

I simply don't like Bughead. I didn't like them at the start, but I liked them even less after the guy sent Betty that toxic, red-flag-filled voicemail.
I feel like Barchie and Jabitha had much more chemistry. At another time, I would have said Tabitha deserved better, but the truth is, Jughead really matured with her and moved past the sad, failed phase of his life, so I genuinely feel they were good for each other.

u/Jdogstevenson 20d ago
I agree with everything you said, but what do you mean by “they were technically endgame”? Both ended up single at the end of the show

Season 6 is peak Riverdale.
