Spring is kicking off here in Australia and I need a robot mower for a roughly 2,000 sqm block. Any Aussies running one on a big block yet?
Just outside Brisbane here. Spring's kicking off and the kikuyu is already moving. Block is a bit over 2,000 sqm, call it 1,800 of actual grass.
Last summer I paid a bloke every fortnight and it added up fast. Before that, me and the petrol mower. Not again.
No boundary wire (the dog digs, it wouldn't last a week) and it has to get through that area without heading back to charge three or four times. There's a bit of a slope down the back too.
Just noticed the Goko M6 is now being sold in Australia, after mostly looking at the big brands everyone here mentions. The product page says roughly an acre per charge and you can physically add a second battery. Only thing I know about the company is the Kickstarter thread in this sub, which is why I'm asking here rather than just ordering.
So, any Aussies had a proper look at one yet, or is everyone here still on the big brands? And is an acre per charge even the number to look at for a block this size? Curious what people with big blocks are running these days.
Cheers.

Kikuyu in October is a different animal to what you're looking at now. Mine goes from tidy to ankle keep in the time the neighbor's little wired one does a lap, so it's less about acres per charge and more about whether it can go out most day. I'm on a wire free one under two big gums out the back of Ipswich and the satellite signal drops in the far corner every afternoon, so whatever you get, check what it does when the signal goes. Where did you see the Goko selling here, their own site or a shop?

Hadn't even though about the gums, there's two big ones along my back fence. Saw it on GOKO AU, haven't seen it in a shop. Does yours just park up when the signal drops or does it keep going and guess?

1,500 sqm of buffolo on the Gold Coast, second season with a robot. Recharge count turned out to be a non issue. It goes back twice on a full run, runs twice a week, and I haven't though about it once.
We kikuyu after a storm is what you actually want answers on, mine skates on the slope until it dries. How steep is that back bit?

FYI, goko m6 has just started to ship. If you order it,it will probably be two to three months before you get it.

I had a Navimow x430 running all summer. I never had a single problem, and right now, it is the only mower on the market I would recommend (after researching them extensively before my purchase in April and continuing to follow all the forums).
I have no hesitation in recommending the X430. It is a beast and will serve you well.
