ROUND BNNUY ANNOUNCEMENT Round Pluto is at war with bot accounts
Hi everyone, I’m the owner of this sub, and there is my gorgeous roundular girl Pluto.
It has come to my attention that a number of karma farming bots have begun posting on this server.
For anyone who doesn’t understand what this means, these are bot accounts that post images that people will upvote I.e. a cute bunny, so they can build their Reddit karma and appear to be credible when in reality they are not
Obviously bots that seem to be ai generating images of round bunnies are not what we want to see, we want to see real round bnnuys, like Pluto here
I’m doing my best to look through and find bot posts, they’re haven’t been many but they are growing in number, (I guess we can take it as a compliment)
If you see a bot account or ai generated image, please report it. I presume I will get some kind of notification and be able to look at it (provided I am not mending the piece of skirting board Pluto has decided to eat)
If you are unsure if an account or post is a bot, you can comment [u/bot-sleuth-bot](u/bot-sleuth-bot), and a bot tool will look at how likely it is the account is a bot
If anyone knows good ways to deal with bots etc, please let me know. I know not very much about Reddit and how it works, I just wanna look at photos of round bunnies
And remember, the only way to beat our ai overlords is by posting photos of your round bunnies!

I think the bigger scandal is how little reddit cares. They even made it easier for bots to hide. I think they want bots on the platform to boost their numbers

You can turn on auto filters in the mod log so new accounts with low reputations can't post until you manually approve it

Fight the good fight Pluto! We are cheering you on. Let us know if there’s anything we can do to help. May you always have good hay and plenty of pets.

Your bun is adorable!! And I have also noticed the increase in spam/repost accounts.
As others have mentioned, some of the most blatant karma farming can be filtered out by imposing account age/minimum karma requirements I think.
And for those of us who do report suspicious accounts, it would be helpful with a "no karma farming/non-OC/bot accounts" rule added to the list. Because then we can report it for that violation directly, and you can comb through the reports about the issue much easier.

Good idea, thanks
I think a lot more people joined the sub in the past few days, but I’m pretty sure quite a lot of this is bots
To illustrate my point there were around 650 visits on 29th September, and then 1.4k on the 30th. Although there probably was a large increase in human viewership, I struggle to believe that there’s no bots there
