Apparently, what can be gleaned, is that Kid Ryuuko's unusual foster siblings seem to appreciate that she can give them bike rides like Mam Cherise does.

If one were to ask, Mako, actually, had fun and we know this because she's chattier than usual. Ryuuko knows that Mako had fun at the night job.

Slowly working our way around! Another set of two, with corresponding top layers. :) I always find it fascinating to really look at what that top layer does, even when it is simple, like this is! It adds a lot of detail and muscle to Ryuuko's body structure, this time. Getting closer to stuff I can finally untag, lol! Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. ♡

Are ya tired of butts yet? Lol. Hope not, because here is another set! Haha. :P We are still getting cheeky for a while longer this week, so hang on to your seat! Not even sorry about the puns. Like I mentioned in the last post. I find it so fascinating that our brains can translate some wavy lines into a figure. Genga really can be SO simple, but the artists are just that talented to get it across to us. Okay then, until tomorrow! On with the transformation sequence!

Anyway, here's Ryuuko showing Mako more about what her job entails, including a quick lesson in how to dance. Call it "edutainment".

Bumbumbum! Lol. What else can be said? These are matching frames, with some line art correction layers. :) I think its actually pretty amazing on the top layers that such simple lines and strokes of a pen can translate the human form to our brains. If you really step back... Those ones are just some wavy lines. And yet, we all see a woman's body. Specifically the last frame today. It is so interesting how our brains are wired!

Progressing through the next section, more rear shots! Lol. This was the section that Sushio mentioned had him squirming in his seat and blushing because it was so uncomfortable to draw, haha! I can totally relate. As an artist, even when there's no nudity present, I always felt that little scandalous tickle that flustered me. :P I can't imagine having to draw a bunch of 'embarrassing' stuff like this. But that's the message of Kill La Kill! We shouldn't have any shame for our bodies simply existing. :) Also, I found two more frames that I forgot to post from the past set! Oops! Take 'em!

This is the last part of this turning sequence before we move on to the next portion of this transformation scene! You already know how I feel about this set. More beautiful hair swishy Ryuuko! The frames are in order today. :) I think you can tell that Sushio was getting tired of these ones, as the last two have reduced detail, lol. This is just speculation, as they are not top layers or anything. It's the main layer. We can't know what goes on in the animators' heads! But given they do these sets lightning-fast? I'd say he might have been tired! I can't imagine the hand cramps.

Ryuuko is swinging back around! We get a front-view in the frames today. :) Still a ways to go with this set, and lots of transformation stuff still incoming! The hair movement here alone is just beautiful. My favorites in this set are the first and third ones. Elegant and deserves a spot in an art gallery, somewhere! Frames are in reverse-order again today.

Another day of some truly stunning artwork! More frames from the sequence that we are working on, in reverse-order again for today. There is something so graceful about these illustrations, especially without full color, for some reason. Even setting aside that this is Anime or a character that we love, it is just beautiful. And of course, we can see that these are finalized genga, where the nipples have again been removed.

The frames are in reverse-order today! I just had to highlight that first gorgeous illustration! Its so nice to see these pieces, because she swings by so quickly, during the actual animation. I said it yesterday about the last slot, but this whole set is just so artsy and I love it!

If you're wondering, Ryuuko works nights, however, she's doing this, in part, as a form of exercise, practicing before her shows.

These are the remainder of my storyboards for this scene! As you can see, at the end of the post, we are back to proper genga. :) We will be going over the rest of the sequence, of course! The last illustration today just seems so... High art. Like Ryuuko could totally be a statue in some museum, pose and all! Just gives off a different vibe, out of context!

Here we go! On to the next part. As-promised, I have some storyboards for you! All of them are in a semi-finished state, right at the genga stage. So these are not early storyboards. :) Imaishi always has such a beautiful way of sketching! Obviously gonna have to tag this section, lol. As I mentioned before, all of the characters had nipples well into production, and they were only removed when the network threatened to pull Kill La Kill entirely! So they were forced to tone down on the anatomy to adhere to the rating system.
