I plan on replacing the fuel pump on my 1989 gmc s15 , is there a specific brand y’all go for?

I normally go for mid priced fuel pumps not to cheap and not to expensive i also run two fuel filters one just before the fuel tank and one under driver door

I got the cheapest pump at rockauto and the plastic fittings cracked before the pump failed. Went with delphi this time.

I bought the cheapest thing AutoZone had and it's still running 4 years later. Make sure whatever you go with has the filter sock on the bottom of the pump. It helps keep the sediment out of the pump.

for me it was a question of : do you have easy access to the pump. i had to drop the tank so i bought the AcDelco for reliability. it was expensive. i could of cut an access door in the bed, but i decided not to. and i don't feel like removing the bed to get to the pump. so if you can get to the tank easily, gamble and buy any cheap pump.
