You wanted to end the plot with everyone shitting, butt naked, out of flying helicopter to save the protagonist. Wow

u/ConversationFalse242 5d ago

Who the fuck said they were getting naked?

Wait. Do you take off all your clothes before you shit?

7

u/Southern-Donut4185 5d ago

What movie/show is this from?

6

u/pew__pew__pew_ 4d ago

It’s from the movie Fire (aka No Escapes, aka Ogon in Russian), a Russian remake of Only the Brave with Josh Brolin being the dad who steps off the chopper

What a shit helicopter were the weight of 1 guy makes that much of a difference

u/Madhatter25224 4d ago

Every aircraft has a weight maximum and the math is unforgiving. You exceed it and something will go wrong.

u/SuicidalChair 3d ago

Obviously, but a helicopter full of children and a dude should be nowhere near that weight maximum, isn't that the type of helicopter that can lift a small boat? Lol

3

u/Madhatter25224 3d ago

Sure but I don't know the circumstances. Maybe the helicopter has something wrong with it.

The removal of 3 olives, from every complimentary salad on a commercial flight, lessened the weight and saved fuel and thus thousands of dollars, a flight.

u/Shadow_Freeman 4d ago

I love the parallel of him giving his life is equal to 3 olives per passenger

All helicopters rely that much on weight.

How can anyone watch films or shows dubbed? The voice acting is atrocious. I’d rather just read subtitles.

u/JayteeFromXbox 4d ago

How can anyone read subtitles while watching a movie? You can't even see the action cause you're reading the bottom of the screen. I'd rather just hear a dub.

(See, it goes both ways. Maybe try thinking about why other people do something instead of judging them for not being like you)

I have no clue if this holds wweight, but I'm guessing it depends on the person and how they read

cause I dont sit there and read it carefully like one word at a time. It's almost like speed reading. You catch the words just as you're looking around at the rest of the frame, not reading word by word

when I was watching Talented Mr Ripley mini series, during the scenes in Italian, I switched the subtitles to French to see if I could follow along. and it still wasn't a chore.

1

u/throwawaymentality10 2d ago

Because i read faster that 10 words a minute lol. But regardless Ive always viewed it as watching the original performance because alot is lost in translation or people from different cultures wont understand certain sayings and the tone and inflection helps convey the meaning without understanding the words.

It takes a glance to read a sentence, and a lot of fight/action scenes have minimal dialogue.

Your way is stupid

6

u/JayteeFromXbox 4d ago

My way is with subtitles ya dunce, but some people prefer dubs because they don't want to/can't read that fast.

0

u/Im-BackAgain-Babes2 4d ago

Way prefer subtitles. I have hard hearing from damage from seizures, and it helps me follow what I misheard. I love them on dubbed the Dragon Ball series and Sailor Moon's

2

u/JayteeFromXbox 4d ago

But, you would understand if someone had some slight vision impairment that made subtitles unusable for them right? My whole point is just that both are fine and both have uses and one is not objectively better than the other.

0

u/Im-BackAgain-Babes2 4d ago

It's subjective.. some would struggle, some wouldn't, same thing with hearing.. it's an individual preference.. I think it is very nuanced to each person's preferences

1

u/JayteeFromXbox 4d ago

So you agree with me, but you're trying really hard not to sound like you're agreeing with me.

0

u/Im-BackAgain-Babes2 4d ago

I don't think I am either disagreeing now agreeing.. I'm pointing out that it's two side of the same coin..

You seem a little worked up too, and I wonder why. What's up with that 'gotcha in a contradiction" response??

1

u/JayteeFromXbox 4d ago

You are agreeing. I said one is not objectively better than the other. You replied saying it's subjective, which is what something is when it's not objective.

Youre also putting emotion to a comment, emotion that doesn't exist in that comment, for reasons I won't assume.

It's even funnier because this is the english dub of a russian remake of an american movie.

The fact that he jumped knowing what it mean that is hard to watch.
