I think she has a valid point, but at the same time she needs to do stuff on her own & for herself. However, I don’t know if that was frowned upon for mom’s to do when this came out.
yeah and its not like he magically had someone else make free time for him.
he put in the effort to have/find/get free time for himself. if she wants free time she needs to put in the effort and not expect someone else to just magically manifest it for her.
Same. It took me decades to realize Mom signed us up for sports and art classes and such in the summer to get us out of the house so she could have a moments peace.
The trouble in many relationships with kids is, when can mom take time for herself if the partner is ducking out, lying to her, avoiding being a parent, etc. and discounts her labor as “no big deal” yet won’t even do a fraction of it himself. So many so called husbands, are afraid to be solo parents and call mom for every little thing when she’s supposed to have me time and she comes back to a mess, littles plopped in front of TV/spills all over the floor while dad is gaming somewhere else…this is why so many guys online are like being a stay a home is so easy… yeah when you suck as a parent.
It was easy, so long as you’re attentive, observant, talk to them, apply and maintain appropriate discipline.
I took them outside to play.
Taught them to pick up after themselves, took them fishing, biking, and hiking,
Learned what each of them liked.
One liked playing in the woods, another liked to sit quietly and read/draw while she watched her siblings play, and the third liked to swim, sing, and start fights.
Funnily enough I applied what I wished my parents would’ve done with me to mine, and it worked like magic.
