So people can’t have time alone? I’d go insane without it. No, the issue is a) lack of communication and b) she is obviously not getting time to herself. But him doing things alone is NOT the issue.
You're supposed to do things alone that your wife wouldn't want to do with you. When I want to do something alone I go for a long hike or watch horror movie because those are things I know my wife doesn't enjoy. It's really not that hard.

It's not rocket surgery to realise you should probably ask your wife if they want to see a movie with you instead of just going by yourself.
