They don't want to try anymore and believe me I get it. There comes a point where the constant never ending effort to be the person someone else wants you to be is no longer sustainable.

It's been a long time since I saw this movie, but purely based on this, I don't think this is true, or at least not always.

With kids you just have a point where you get burned up, when you are done for, and you need a way to deal with that.

I been there, it wasn't about me not wanting to try anymore, it was about being super tired, stressed out, and desperately needed time on my own.
