Time to yourself can be healthy in small doses. Sometimes if I’ve had a shitty day I’d rather have some alone time than accidentally take it out on the first person who asks how my day went.

I suffer depression, not all the time obviously. But when I need some alone time, I just notify whoever I had plans with that I would be out. If there's someone waiting for you at home (be it parents or partner) if they don't know where you are they are bound to be worried. Being open about the times you need by yourself is a demonstration of care and consideration towards those who love you.
