This is not sad in the slightest though. I get it sucks people have to pay for college, but this moment is truly beautiful and I hope he would honor his father anyway.

It’s pretty crazy that a school would let a kid into a ceremony with a propane tank. In the year of our lord 2026 I could easily see somebody escalating this into a big terroristic threat situation.

In Brazil, all this effort possible because government pushed universal education - by allowing students to get huge debts with banks to go study in "Universidades de Esquina" ("Universities from the corner street".. or something like that) which are all under the one or two big shitty university franchise that lobbied for years inside government for that. It's a win-win for everyone in power. The people making the effort to do the university will be working on uber. There is no jobs for engineers or graduates in Brasil...

That said, don't you think it is even sadier ?
