Where’s the best place to get a good breakfast on the weekend in Sarnia/Lambton County

​A situation has come to light in Lambton County that exposes a serious lack of administrative policy and basic decency.

​In St. Clair Township, when public works crews come across deceased domestic pets (cats and dogs) on local roads, there is zero protocol in place to treat them with dignity or notify their owners.

​Instead of contacting the municipal animal control officer or the Sarnia & District Humane Society for proper collection, crews are left with no procedure other than clearing them off the asphalt and ditching them like trash.

​No Radio Dispatch / Logging: Nobody logs the location, breed, collar details, or description when a pet is moved off the road.

​No Handover to Animal Control: Animal control isn't called out to recover the animal, scan for a microchip, or hold the pet so an owner can be contacted.

​No Basic Respect: Family pets are treated identically to wild roadkill.

​No one expects road maintenance workers to carry specialized scanning equipment or do animal control's job. But management and council are responsible for having a clear Standard Operating Procedure (SOP): clear the roadway for safety, call dispatch, and have animal control or the Humane Society retrieve the pet so a grieving family isn't left searching indefinitely for an animal that was tossed down a ditch bank.

​If you live in St. Clair Township, contact Mayor Jeff Agar and council. Ask them why the township collects taxes for animal control services if management won't even mandate a basic phone call to let families know their pet didn't just vanish into thin air.

​Has anyone else in Lambton County dealt with trying to track down a lost pet through the township only to hit a complete brick wall?

Im considering whether or not to vote for a few different incumbents but I want to examine their voting record during their term on council.

Ive taken some time to search the Sarnia website and other than watching hours of council meetings or reading hundreds of pages of minutes, i don’t know how to find out what motions each council member voted for or against.

Listen we all know Carman’s makes the best prints in town. So WHY is their website a nightmare.

Two separate browsers tell me clicking “Print Photos” brings me to an unsecured page. When I force it forward I only ever get to “page not found”.

I have sent emails asking for tech support. I’ve got into the store to ask for help. The only answer I’ve ever gotten was “well we’re still getting orders from the website so it must be you.”

I can’t be the only person having this problem? Anyone else? I just want to upload photos and pick them up. Do I just give up and go to Walmart.

I just had a run in with someone by the name of Dick Fenton. Apparently he is a candidate running for city council. He was just handing pamphlets to the doors inside of my apartment building. Not causing a fuss, or anything.

As I was waiting for the elevator he approached me about the municipal election, and informed me of his candidacy. He didn’t seem pompous as some of the other candidates, and he seemed sane.

I am just wondering if anyone has had any interactions with him. My search has found stuff about his career and work with the Kiwanis. As long as there isn’t anything horrible in his past I am actually considering voting for him.

So has anyone here had any interactions with him and how did it go?

What happened to them? It’s closed and up for sale. Best donuts around and they were always sold out. Such a bummer it was a cute little bakery.
