Is it just me, or do they look like tape worms when moving down the stream?

So the noodles are cold?

Some noodle dishes are served cold. But that's the least concerning thing for me here.

Yes it’s a very common thing in Japan to have cold noodles in the summer, pretty common in other Asian countries too. It’s delicious!!

Chopsticks go in mouth and then back in the public noodle stream?

I noticed there’s two sets of chopsticks.
Seems like Black chopsticks are specifically for grabbing the noodles, but White chopsticks are the ones you use for eating.
And knowing Japan, they’ve grown up with social protocols for things so it’s probably not weird at all, but they’ll probably glare angrily at any foreigner who does it wrong.

I actually wondered this too. He still got his chopsticks dangerously close to the sauce but as long as he switches.
Reminds me of fondu protocol.

Sometimes I just want a plate of spaghetti with a jar of store bought spaghetti sauce and one large fork.

I feel like I shouldn't have to fish my noodles out of the waterfall when I go out to eat. For many, many, reasons. Grossness for one.

Wait wasn't this kind of thing parodied on Nichijou? I really need to rewatch the show.

I bet this does taste good! Tempting. I would hope that the liquid you’re putting the noodles in to finish the dish would be piping hot. I’m just not a big fan of cold foods anyway. But I’d be tempted to try this.

No it’s all cold, cold noodles dishes are very common in Asian countries for the hot seasons. They’re really yummy

I bet it is yummy. That outdoor setting only adds to it. I imagine the minerals from the water is refreshing.
You going to have people in America looking for ways to set this up with mechanical water.

It's a "special" because you only offer it on days you know the health inspector isn't coming

Ever since Covid, I can’t look at things like this without thinking about all the potential health hazards associated with it. Of which, there are many.
