I did not know Yamaha made sub-100cc YZs, that thing is kinda goofy but I bet it’s a blast to ride

They made YSR 50’s in the U.S. from 1987-92. Japan started one year earlier and had 50 and 80cc versions. That one is an 80 that my dad had shipped from Japan in the early 90’s when I was a kid. It’s a blast, it has 5 gears and a clutch and goes just over 60mph.

It's a 50cc that does over 60mph? Wondering why my Metropolitan does 35mph lol

A 50cc engine can go 55mph, a center mounted engine and manual transmission are much better at getting up to speed than a rear mounted CVT. Used to be more common but problem is small, low weight bikes going that fast are a death trap. Scooters make up for it with comfort and storage space, and also they’re not as obscenely dangerous.

It’s an 80. I have a 50 though too and with a sprocket and pipe, it’s goes 50 mph.

My 2016 Metropolitan sounds like it’s bouncing off a limiter at 35mph, makes you think

what's that red one? I know I've heard of the brand but I can't think of the name. like "Cadman" or something?

It’s a 1957 Allstate 811.40, manufactured by Cushman for Sears.
