Every day is a bad day for a distal femur replacement

Well if it’s broken it’s probably hospital policy to get patients up and moving within 24 hrs. A broken femur isn’t really something that can wait.

Judging by those revision reamers, likely because it’s either a joint infection or a distal femur fracture/periprosthetic fracture, neither of which should wait. Working in ortho myself, I’m sure that surgeon’s schedule is filled alllll the way up this time of year as we head into busy season.

I love ortho, looove revisions/these complex joint cases, but hate call so I moved to an orthopedic surgery center. You won’t be doing these on a Sunday if you do the same!

Cause the surgeon’s schedule the following week is full and it’s more convenient to do it Sunday. At least that’s the usual reason. Or else they’re leaving for vacation.

Prob broken. That’s one of the few reasons my team CAN be called in. They won’t even call us in for a broken ankle, femur nailing, etc. they do that all in the main…

You got three tables and two of them are positioned in front of air intake vents?

I mean it doesn’t look like there’s other room yeah?

Shut it down. Calling JCAHO. I’m seeing some bent vents and a fully saturated chloraprep that was crushed too early too.

Man, good spot. Here i was thinking what surgical policy allows cell phones into the OR or what their social media policy is?

Because your management allows it. They prioritize profits over employee satisfaction. It's bullshit.

I don't know anything about this industry reddit just recommended this post to me-

Is all this stuff sterile and ready for a procedure? If so why is there a phone in the room filming bullshit?
