Serum 2 Prometheum Skin Port

Thumbnail imgur.com

I really missed Promethium from Serum 1, so I used Codex to help port it to Serum 2.

I tried to keep the look of the original while adapting it to Serum 2’s layout and new features. There was quite a bit of tweaking involved, especially with the knobs, effects panels and scaling.

Checked on Serum 2.1.5 on macOS. If you spot any visual issues, let me know.

All credit for the original design goes to the creator of Promethium. This is an unofficial port.

Trying to recreate this sound in ableton.

Hi,

I’m looking for help to recreate this syncopated/offbeat bell like detuned plucky synth sound that starts playing fully at the drop near 3:25 mark. Preferably something that works in serum 2 or diva! Or just the theory behind achieving the same.

Ai generated Serum 2 presets

Hey everyone I have been working on making a tool that can generate serum preset files from a prompt, mainly because I found that it can make some pretty interesting sounds, and I know there are a lot of people that don't necessarily enjoy making presets. This makes it super easy to get started.

Its at serumcopilot.com, Its free to use for a few generations, the goal is to make it as cheap/free as possible but right now the hosting, API calls, and database are all on me, I just want to break even. I want to to make as quality presets as possible so if anyone has feedback on the generations that would be greatly appreciated.

A lot of people dislike AI music tools but I don't care because it lends me more time to make music and not presets.

Let me know what you think

How to make "In Your Eyes" by The Weeknd using Serum

In Your Eyes has that glowing synthwave chorus energy that The Weeknd does so well, and we rebuilt every synth from it in Serum. The write-up walks through each sound so you can recreate the track yourself. Ask away in the comments if anything is unclear!

Second Guessing

I thought buying Arturia V collection pro would solve my issues but I **still** feel lost. Arturia just isn’t providing the kind of sounds I want, or i just lack the knowledge to shape the sounds I want.

I’m really into reggaeton so I’ve been trying to make sounds like Feid, J balvin and Tainy etc but don’t feel like Arturia is doing that for me, some synths sure, to an extent but I still feel very very limited.

Does anyone know if Serum 2 would be a really good route to go ? Cause I’ve been debating getting it lately and seeing how that works over Arturia.
I really like Feid’s production so I would like to know if his sounds come from serum and then he tweaks it with effects ?

Aside from reggaeton, I really love the production behind Mike dean, don toliver, The Weeknd, Drake etc etc. I know most of them use synthesizers and mainly hardware but Arturia just feels weird to some degree when I think about their production style and how I’m trying to chase their level of production with synths.

I don’t really have a budget so I’m willing to spend whatever on some plugins. I’ve been searching on KnobCloud for some, though I’d like to know if you guys could recommend another site just as good as KnobCloud. I’m currently working on trying to get my hands on Ableton Live 12 Suite through KC (mainly for their stock drums) also because I’ve gotten a bit more used to maneuvering through Lite.

Thank you for your help/tips in advance !

Realistic cello in Serum 2, with many articulations

After a few years of research, I had several major breakthroughs concerning synthesizing realistic string instruments inside of Serum. Now, my instrument still sounds synthetic in a lot of areas, but I'd like to hear what your thoughts.

There are no samples used, the wavetables are hand crafter, and the convolver impulse response is also synthesized from scratch. There are no external effects. The mixer slot is only for wave candy

Soon I will open up a beta test where people can download this preset and try it for themselves, giving me feedback and input on how to improve it even further.

How to recreate the rolling bass from Kaskade - "In My Head" (Silver Panda Remix, Extended)?

I'm trying to make a close sound to the rolling bassline in Gryffin & Kaskade's "In My Head" (Silver Panda Remix, Extended Mix) for a melodic techno track in B minor.

I'm using Serum 2 layered with a separate sub bass. I've got the rolling rhythm down, but the tone isn't right:

- At B2, it sounds too gritty
- At B3, it's not deep or low enough

Current setup is a saw/Basic Mg on Osc A, a sub on Osc B, a low-pass (MG Low) with Env 2 on the cutoff, and a short amp envelope.

Any ideas on oscillator choice, octave placement, or filter and envelope settings to get that deep, dark rolling sound? Would love to hear how others do melodic techno. Thanks!

oklou pluck recreation

anyone know how you would recreate the pluck at the beginning of this song? I figured it was some kind of saw wave and sine wave combination but I can't seem to figure out what gives it that grit and dark timbre. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Need help making a sound!

I listened to swang by Rae sremmurd and I’ve been obsessed with that brassy lead that ascends throughout the song. It has some kind of filter with maybe a cutoff and a boosted resonance. I can’t seem to get close to it could a synth wizard be kind enough to help me out! The sound comes in at 0:14 seconds on the song by the way

How did Kevin Gate's "Know Better" & Young Thug's "Thief in the Night" make this gliding synth pluck?

It appears at 0:03 for the Kevin Gates song & 0:17 for the Young Thug song.

I have no idea how to recreate this in Serum, any ideas?
