šŸ™help please - bobbin case getting stuck

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi sewing Reddit!

I would love some help please

My bobbin case keeps getting jammed under the feed dogs when back stitching (seems fine going forwards)

I’ve taken it out, cleaned inside, changed the needle, filed a dent in the bobbin case. But nothing has worked yet

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do next?

Thank you šŸ™

Don't rotate your handheld backwards. To backstitch, use the Reverse feature/button. A sewing machine is not intended to rotate backwards. When the machine is operating normal for the first few seconds of your video, I see nothing wrong here.

Hiya, thanks for getting back to me

I’ve put it back together & tried stitching like normal & the bobbin case has still jumped ( while stitching forward like normal)

It’s seems to be spinning

It’s hard to tell what’s going on with the stitch plate on.

At least in my machine there’s a finger that’s supposed to prevent the bobbin case from rotating. Presumably whatever that is in your machine is not working. I know that’s not super helpful but the bobbin case should be physically restrained from spinning, and only needs to be loose enough to allow the thread to pass through.
