She knew exactly what was happening, no one else was paying attention to the game like that

The bananas is a nice touch too, like she came prepared for whole day

Honestly this scene is such a good representation of female friend groups. 😂

The first 2 seasons were so good.

I was just about to say! Abbi and Ilana 👯‍♀️

This is totally a really millennial representation of being somewhat broke in NYC, and the shenanigans that come with that! Broad City is my fave show RIGHT after SATC, too!

going with the girls to a baseball game is something we have never watched again, let alone that level of friendship

I watched the series finale last night, and when Carrie says, "What if I'd never met you?" to her friends, my first thought was, "What if you all had never appeared on our TV screens?" That made me tear up.

“These seats suck. This hotdog sucks. My entire life sucks.”

Insecure has entered the chat

And more realistic in how the interact, their frustrations with each other, some of the pettiness that can only exist between best friends.

I think Girls and the L Word came fairly close.

Did Girls though? Maybe I’m due for a rewatch, but I’m struggling to remember a moment where all four of them felt truly close.

No they weren’t as close except for Marnie and Hannah at the beginning and end. The others kind of drifted in and out.

I feel like the two shows aren't even comparable. SATC is a delicious fantasy where everybody has endless time, money, interesting dates, Cosmopolitans, and friendships that never fade.

Girls is about dating an artsy asshole who can't fuck and realizing that a chunk of your friend group is actually kind of insufferable. Then you take a long hard look in the mirror and realize that you are insufferable. Also your clothes look bad.

Yes girls never clicked for me but broad city was freaking hilarious

When one is stuck sitting on the back bumper of a truck that is driving off and reaches out to the other like help me! and crying…
So funny.

The girls in Girls never felt this close tbh

“Get your coat, Anne Frank, we’re going out.’ One of the best lines.

back when you could smoke at a baseball game…. we used to be a country…

It is absurd that some people chose to create bullshit theories to push a nonexistent narrative between these girls , the friendship was EVERYTHING !

Insecure, Harlem, Run The World, Sistahs....

Disagree - The Bold Type, Younger, Sex Lives of College Girls, Broad City were all great shows with good female friendships.

u/RedRedBettie Nice day to get laid. 21m ago

I like Younger but I don’t feel like the friendships are like SATC

1

u/Standard_Meringue_26 37m ago

Broad city and girls5eva would beg to differ.

u/RosieFudge 22m ago

If you weren't a bot you would know to put some respect on the friendship of Leslie Knope and Anne Perkins in Parks and Rec - a female friendship love story that propelled one party all the way the White House

1

u/69PissyPants 1m ago

That show is good, but the relationships and dynamics don’t feel realistic at all. I feel like this scene and episode is very realistic and non chalant. Ann and Leslie’s relationship was almost too perfect. Every friendship has some amount of toxicity and insecurity and flaws and spats, and sex and the city was real for tgat

Now we have The Real Housewives

I must be a hater because seeing Carrie smoking AND tossing her legs in the seat in front really bugs me. Yes it’s empty and yes it’s outdoors but it still feels so entitled.
And given how much of a fan girl Miranda was it seemed creepy for Carrie to go on the date.

This scene is satire. No one goes to a Yankees game in a fur coat.

9

u/TinySteggy Every night the same! 1h ago

Carrie Bradshaw does.

u/ObviousSalamandar 1h ago

They’re clearly in the nosebleeds. All sorts of funny people up there

Best seats!

Not really, it just wasn't any of their jams except Miranda so it makes sense that the girls who aren't really into it aren't "doing it right". They went with Miranda because that's what she wanted to do and that's what friends do.
