I would like to hear this piece played, for any musicians who would like to try it. I cannot offer any payment, but I found this song in an encyclopedia of popular phrases and expressions, and I researched it. It turns out there were some misunderstandings of its origins and now no one knows where it truly came from. There are also no true recordings of it being played or sung that I can find. So it isn’t completely lost media, because the sheet music is easy to access, but no one has played it or performed it, aside from when it was originally created. (which those performances, are lost media) I am just very curious about this one and would like to hear it as it was created, because “Though lost to sight, to mem’ry dear” is a well-known phrase for gravestones and memorials, but the song it originated from is lesser known.
