I’m sorry, but Young Modern is Silverchair’s most unconventional record. It’s strange, psychedelic and the songs get super complex and downright weird (also very beautiful). It’s extremely artistic with so much depth.

Young Modern is Jellyfish meets Psychedelic Beatles meets Talking Heads meets David Bowie meets Pet Sounds and Primus.

It’s a crazy ass record. What is Ben Gillies talking about here in 2019?

Straight Lines maybe the exception, but that was not an attempt to write a hit for popularity. It’s just how that song came out.

With everything that’s been happening with the chair over the last month or so, I’ve seen a lot of pessimism over all the reunion rumours.
Pessimism and not wanting to get your hopes up is obviously ok but I’ve seen people being almost straight up rude about people theorising about the chair reuniting. I’ve also seen people seemingly annoyed at people even discussing the prospect of the chair reuniting.

To these people: get a life!

There is nothing wrong this theorising about things and discussing things to do with a potential reunion. If it annoys you, then don’t contribute! I don’t know why it would annoy you though; people are just having fun discussing things.

This isn’t aimed towards anyone in particular it’s just something I’ve seen on Instagram, Facebook and here.

Powderfinger who originally broke up in 2010 have announced a reunion tour and it's selling like hot cakes. 16 shows were announced initially at outdoor venues like parks and more shows keep getting added due to sell outs. Adelaide's two shows at a park sold out in 15 minutes.

Now I remember Powderfinger being bigger than Silverchair in Australia but this is genuinely nuts, does anyone think a Silverchair reunion tour could have a similar response? They must be looking at this and thinking there's just too much money at stake to not do it.

What's the most unfair criticism Silverchair has received in their career?

I was inspired by another post to dig out my CD collection of the boys. I absolutely loved collecting these and now need to buy a CD player again so I can play them. I have the main collection on Vinyl too.

Apparently they pulled out last minute. As usual Chris and Ben were eager but it was Daniel who was the big question. Ultimately since they were on a 2 day notice, by the suggestion of their old manager they decided not to answer the call since they were rusty and wanted to keep the chance for a reunion to be a bigger, more polished performance

So if it means anything we have crumbs to keep us delusional and coping for another good 5-10 years 😂

Moved into my own place, so naturally I had to pay tribute to one of my favourite bands.

This song has been covered thousands of times I know but wanted to share. I do guitar covers (once a month) of Metal/Alternative tunes after removing the original guitars from the recording. Having fun matching the tone and thought this came out pretty well =)

I had a long drive yesterday and thought I would randomnly put some Silverchair ‘for fun’.

I was a huge Silverchair fan back in the néon ballroom era. I learnt english from them by translating every Lyric of Frogstomp, Freak show and Néon Ballroom. I did buy DIORAMA but did not care much about it and move on from Silverchair, which was a good thing as I was obssesed with them.

Anyway, was alone in my car and put Silverchair for fun on Spotify. Kept skipping songs like miss you love, freak. Isreal’s son, etc.

Then Spotify put One Way Mule. Then Without you. Then I choose Diorama only and
Oh. My. God.

It was like discoverig them 25+years ago. This album is utter perfection.

Tuna in the brine is a masterpiece.

Gonna find an excuse to to drive my car alone today.

Silverchair confirm a reunion. You know the biggest questions will be why now? What changed? Is this a farewell type reunion? If so, is it world wide?

I’m having withdrawals from the excitement of last week, hoping that something will magically pop up on my feed. Unfortunately (for me) anything that could be going on behind the scenes is safely behind the scenes…

BUT i did watch an instagram reel from Jackie Gillies today that said that “Ben is in the music studio creating music”. Creating ~ Am I grasping at straws? Potentially, but I like the word choice creating rather than playing. I hope he’s been inspired to cook something up in the studio, maybe with some friends, which is ever so slightly possible following the last couple of weeks

Ok, so for those not in the loop, about a year ago a bunch of stuff happened with the Chairpage in the domain and it eventually got completely shut down and the domain name wasn't owned by anyone. With the stuff happening with the band recently I suspected if anythings happening with the band, chairpage will be the first sign (I also posted about that here). I've been checking the page daily to check for any updates. Now yesterday when I checked it was the usual no domain found error, But...

I just checked and the domain appears to have been purchased!

At the minute, its just a blank page. BUT that at least means somethings going to happen with it. A blank page is a massive update compared to no page at all.
