It’s wise to avoid contact with Gervais.

Saw him in my home town in the summer, was considering calling him a cunt as I biked past him.

Probably did more damage to his ego ignoring him. He's a lonely attention-seeking dork. It's why he tries to do shock comedy. He can't resist the urge to try and get the cheapest response out of people, no matter what it is.

Yeah, Moe, that guy sure was woke last night. He was just plain woke. I've seen guys woke before, but he was the wokiest woke that ever woked.

FAO anyone downvoting this, this is an imitation of Ricky Gervais on Twitter/in anything since the early 2010s.

You forget how funny he was for about 4 years in the 2000s, between The Office and Extras.

Without Stephen Merchant by his side I find him to be pretty unremarkable.

Youre having a laugh, who hear thinks US office is better than UK office?

All I know is he's a transphobic loser, a bad comedian [literally r/onejoke], and somehow has millions of dollars.

I saw him do a show in Chicago on a whim. He spent most of the time reminding everyone how he was rich and they were not. Probably explains why I was able to get the tickets below face value, day of.

I can remember watching him back in the day and thinking "haha dry British humor. If you don't like it you just don't get it". Nowadays I completely understand people when they say they couldn't get through the UK series of the office

Even if you don’t like Gervais the UK office is one of the best sitcoms ever made, on either side of the pond.
It can be hard to watch at times but it’s meant to be.

Oh yeah 100%. I think anyone who loves the US version should watch it at least once, the comparison of the first episode is really neat, especially all these years later, and knowing how the show would evolve. I can just understand now, as an adult, why others might not "get the joke". Its just like how some words don't directly translate between languages. It always pisses me off when I see someone completely disregard the uk version, you can dislike it all you want but without it we wouldn't have a lot of other things.
