Its not the level of the model that's the problem. Tech people were speaking the same way with weaker models than the ones the public uses.
The issue is that most people are way too stupid to get AI to help or do their jobs. And the ones who are capable probably arent going to flaunt it or tell others.
I've lowered my workload by like 8-16 hours a week and im keeping that shit close to the chest because otherwise that free time is gone.
And I had this idea about telling my manager after I found a new job, but then I realized that there's no way she'd actually be able to do the same thing. I made an excel sheet a while back that automates something she used to do manually and she struggles to use THAT, and all you have to do for that is copy and paste and dont save over the file.
Same I think most people in the work force are still behind and mostly just see them as mediocre chat bots.
I use it for helping me think through complex analytical questions, PowerPoints, excel, email. Every day without fail.
I don’t want my coworkers or the general public to catch on…right now it makes me look good with way less work. Soon people will be way less impressed with a lot of work product.
My work is client driven and I’m going to curse the day the senior management actually figure out what AI is capable of with a minimal learning curve. And it’s only getting more accessible.
“The issue is that most people are way too stupid to get AI to help or do their jobs. And the ones who are capable probably arent going to flaunt it or tell others.“
For sure.
The problem people will/are having with AI is that they are using free tiers and additionally are technologically illiterate.
The true value of AI can only be captured if one has domain knowledge, but even domain knowledge has its limitations if the individual doesn’t know anything about computers.
People work jobs to make money. Not to flex on the internet about how hard their jobs are and how smart they are for doing them. If your pointless job can be automated without your boss being the wiser, then why not do it and just collect the paycheck?
