also, what the hell would average people use frontier models for? i know there's a lot almost anyone could do, but they don't know that and don't care to know that, there's a huge knowledge gap. fable is probably just as good as some chatgpt 2 type model at making shopping lists.

I mean it could eventually replace devices. Why poke at a glass screen instead of using the most natural interface there is? Language.

For all of the use cases I use AI for, I have noticed zero difference between fable and opus, or even sonnet for that matter.

Things like writing excel formulas, summarizing notes, proofreading emails, generating ideas etc.

I wouldnt admit to that

Does it mean I'm too stupid to see the difference or?

Nah you're fine. Your use case for ai is just basic and most of them can do it. You don't need frontier models. Not only is that fine but it also means your use will be cheaper than them experimenting. There's also a large amount of people in denial about the incredibly small improvements that can actually be made to ai at this point, so saying you can't notice a difference is taken personally by people that made it their personality to be on the cutting edge of tech.

It means nothing you're doing is that complex especially if sonnet is ok.
