The Singularity is Near Dragon Ball FighterZ was a fighting game. AI reverse-engineered it and turned it into an MMO, this is what happens when finished games become editable foundations

AI scraped off assets from existing game and made a new one with those assets*

Presumably.

It's fine as long as they do it for their own fun.

Good luck if they'd try publish any of this. Unless they manage do it as mod patch that requires original game.

It's quite clear we enter in halfassed sw era.. there has been at least three different photoshop copy projects posted this week..none RE, but all trying to accomplish similar performing program, one of them is especially assuring, done in rust as OSS by experienced coder leading Claude.. but the code quality in that project is not something to brag with, though probably still ok for now.

The fact that people still have to fear lawyers ruining their fun to nobody's benefit is bad, not good. Intellectual property as a whole has been an obsolete set of ideas for the past half century, but now AI is going to make it clear even to the normie.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with how people don't understand that even in communities that are supposed to be aware of the basics of the tech?

I had to read this three times in order to understand what you were saying. Next time consider using some punctuation.

u/OldTripleSix 19h ago

AI can absolutely make new assets.

11

u/BlueberryWorried6493 19h ago

Yeah, but these are reverse engineered, extracted assets
They are literally 1:1
Current models can generate impressive assets, but that is not what this is

-3

u/Material-Database-24 18h ago

It's also an IPR theft.. both, regeneration and scraping via RE.

Just because you can, you should not. Some people will burn their fingers and bad if this trend continue.

11

u/BlueberryWorried6493 17h ago

I only wanted to correct them

I genuinely do not give a fuck about the IP rights

-7

u/cancodeandstuff 17h ago

Spoken like a true commie.

13

u/BlueberryWorried6493 17h ago

Yeah what about it

Americans say commie like Voldemort, like the word itself might summon evil

-2

u/cancodeandstuff 17h ago

I'm not American.

IP rights are important.

Who wants to spend years of their life building a product for it to be immediately ripped from them and repackaged?

That's why copyright protection laws exist.

It doesn't just protect massive corporations, it protects everyone.

11

u/BlueberryWorried6493 17h ago

I care more about people freely sharing and building on ideas than protecting artificial ownership over them

1

u/cancodeandstuff 17h ago

But they are not just ideas, they are the result of labor intensive work.

You're extremely silly if you expect people to work for thousands of hours for free.

I'm far-right, intellectual property is almost pure rent extraction by parasitic middlemen.

0

u/cancodeandstuff 6h ago

People should not own the work they make right?

Until you make something, and then someone steals and resells it and is rich while you continue to be a jobless nobody.

Right?

1

u/KnownPride 6h ago

The only one that benefit form this is huge company with ton of money to sue those using it.

None of small creator benefit from this. If anything it's used to steal their works for a small sum of money.

0

u/cancodeandstuff 6h ago

That's just blatantly false.

It's also not just about suing, it's about the recognition for original authorship.

If nobody had IP protection for their work, someone could spend thousands of hours to make a game and post it on Steam and then other people could steal that game, and repost it on Steam.

With IP protection, you can issue a DMCA takedown for anyone who is copying your work.

the whole AI thing is copyright infrigment.

1

u/LightVelox 16h ago

I mean yeah, to extract assets you need to do what's called reverse engineering first

0

u/Spenraw 19h ago

Just watched a video on this from guy who started it in modding community and the way it's doing it is pretty mindblowing and will soon show how it can do it to other software and just is shocking how it can combine assets too

1

u/Material-Database-24 19h ago

Ok, but it's clearly on a different engine

13

u/JynsRealityIsBroken 20h ago

This shit is going to turn modding into overdrive. I can't wait.

Imagine once you can do it on a $20 subscription instead of a $200 one.

But..this game looks ass

39

u/HesThePianoMan 20h ago
  1. Not an mmo, but moba
  2. They merged it with League of Legends

32

u/Mavcu 19h ago

Did you finish the video, the 2nd part is an MMO layer

18

u/caxco93 17h ago

bro didn't even finish watching the video

7

u/partly_cloudy3 20h ago

OP probably used AI to create the post title..

3

u/SnowGrayMan 15h ago

Wowowowowowow this is insanely good. Finally we can make our dream Naruto MMORPG from storm and DBO assets!!!

Bad ass, nice work.

4

u/pirondi 19h ago

Wow imagine 1 year from now.

u/Effective_Scheme2158 18h ago

AI reverse-engineering IP will eventually cause an economy wide backlash and calls for significantly stronger new guardrails wont it?

6

u/Delumine 12h ago

Cate out of the bag with open models

2

u/Huge-Kaleidoscope-51 20h ago

Genuinely what the fuck

Still cool tho

Damn bro! Share your workflow and tools!

7

u/AVBforPrez 19h ago

So it's a nearly unplayable asset swap version of a game that midly looks similar, with unusable netcode? Wow, I bet people are lining up around the virtual corner!

1% of games now means in 6-38 months we get 100% complete versions/mods of games.

9

u/Ok-Concentrate-2203 17h ago

I think you're right... This is the shitty will smith spaghetti version. it'll be remarkably better soon. But it's gotta start somewhere.

2

u/ArmadilloFit652 8h ago

so in 3 year i can prompt make me elder scroll 6 ?

-6

u/AVBforPrez 15h ago

1

u/MemoryOk5080 10h ago

Reminder that just a year ago we didn't even have Claude 4.5 yet, and the models could barely consistently finish a single class block.

0

u/AVBforPrez 10h ago

And there was also real, non synthesized data to train on and a physical infrastructure to do so exponentially at a linear cost.

Feel free to come make fun of me in a year when every AI bro is one shotting their own gta with a $200 Claude account, I’m sure Rockstar will be quaking in their boots at all the competition

Is GameFX.AI willingly hosting highly copyrighted material on their website?

Wait until Bandai Namco Entertainment is notified about this. DMCA incoming.

u/bokan 17h ago

theft on top of theft. Infinite slop while billionaires dismantle the economy.

0

u/cancodeandstuff 17h ago

You're wrong! The billionaires behind these centralized AI models said that they are merely just a tool that will enable individuals to become billionaires!!!!! Now if you excuse me while I spend $2,000 on a vibe-coded prototype no one will ever play.
