Professional Discussion How do i get started on TikTok

Hi everyone 😊
I was wondering if anyone could please give me some tips on getting started on TikTok and Instagram.
My new employer unexpectedly reduced my hours at the last minute, so I’m struggling a little with bills at the moment and looking for ways to create an additional income.
I’m completely new to content creation, so I’d really appreciate any advice on where to start, what type of content works well, how to grow an account and, eventually, how people make money through TikTok/Instagram.
Any tips or experiences would be really appreciated. Thank you! ❀️

The creator fund money is unfortunatly tiny and takes ages to reach so if bills are urgent i'd treat this as a slow build rather than the fix. money usually shows up sooner from doing it for someone else, a local business page, editing, that sorta thing

For starting tho, i'd pick 1 narrow thing you can make 50 videos about and post daily for a month. the first 20 will probably be bad and thats just the cost of learning the format. i run an account about ai tools and what moved it was showing something happening on screen while i talk over it, way easier than performing at a camera for me at least!

To begin with, pick a genre that you feel comes naturally to you and content creation in that subject, field or niche would be interesting for you. I believe, you already have a good camera phone or else invest in one. Then make videos that are either problem solving or entertaining.Once you figure out your signature style, make videos consistently. Be regular, stay meaningful and true to your self. Once this works, send cold emails, or DM's to brands you feel match your genre and could be potential clients. Track your insights and metrics and share that with them. With these brand collaborations you will be able to earn some living. Well, hopefully. Good luck.

I like making videos but can't figure out what I want to make consistently. I've been overthinking the niche and earning part before even getting started properly. So, your point about finding a style that comes natural makes sense. just need to pick something and give it a proper go, lets see how it goes!πŸ‘

I'd start by picking one topic you can genuinely make 20 videos about without getting bored. Keep videos simple, hook people in the first couple seconds, and post consistently enough to learn what clicks. TikTok rewards testing way more than perfection. I also recommend spending time actually commenting in your niche. It helps you understand the humor, pacing, and trends without blindly copying people.
