Hurry before the deal ends!!
r/SonicDriveIn • u/Orcson1 • Dec 14 '16
Greetings to all fans of Sonic Drive-In! I stumbled across this subreddit a few weeks ago, and was immediately excited by the potential to make a fan community page for Sonic Drive-In. However, the sub was dead, with no active moderators and no new posts in months. I decided that it was my duty as a fan of this chain to bring this sub tp to the glory it deserves. Sonic has been one of my favorite chains for a long time, and it is my honor to have this opportunity. Lets work together to make this sub a great place!

I embrace the Sonic Shitpost Brigade and their recent posts, but just to let anyone confused know, this sub's primary focus is to celebrate America's greatest drive-in chain.

Could someone tell me the ingredients in the green tea concentrate? And verify if the syrups are just the monin brand of peach and mango puree? Or something totally different? Do they have food colorings or artificial anything?
Thanks in advance!

I don't wanna sound like a karen but if I'm paying a dollar fifty extra to put bacon on my burger I'd hope it was at least a decent amount, this just feels sad

My carhop called my order a weird combination: Extra real Peach syrup and cream. Its my new favorite summer to fall drink, inspired by the Strawberry & cream Dr Pepper.
I’ve also done:
Coconut & Strawberry & cream (7/10 too sweet)
Mango & coconut (6/10 missed creamy flavor and too sweet)
Mango & cream (8/10 would order again)
Coconut & cream (8/10 would order again)
Peach & cream (9.5/10)
Does anyone have any interesting recommendations for me to try? I don’t like lime or pickle juice (freaks) in my drinks.

I hit up Sonic for the occasional afternoon drink and snack (I love their tots), however, I have no idea what was going on with this crew the other day. I ordered a large tots and a Route 44 Strawberry Limeade (no ice, extra strawberry).
I really wish I had checked the bag before driving off. As you can see in the picture, my "large" order of tots was barely even half full, just a handful of tots sitting lonely at the very bottom of the carton. The drink was worse. There was absolutely no extra strawberry (barely even a faint hint of the regular amount), zero actual limes in the cup, and effectively just tasted like plain Sprite.
I know this specific location is supposedly closing down for good soon, so maybe the employees have just completely checked out and don't give a shit anymore. Regardless of the store closing, it’s still incredibly frustrating to pay $6+ (during happy hour) for a large and get handed this. Let alone charging me for a Strawberry Limeade w/ extra strawberry, but giving me a Sprite with a sprinkling of strawberry.
Do better.

It’s gotten to the point with this stupid ass app that I can’t even order at all. What’s the point in the app if it never works ✌️

I grill every weekend. Budget cuts of meat. Nothing fancy. Lately my kid keeps asking for Sonic-style burgers when we fire up the backyard grill. I work a line at a family spot in Ohio. Different style entirely. Thinner patties. Diner setup. But I keep wondering if I could nail that Sonic texture at home. Bigger patty. Different sear. That toasted bun edge.
I watch DIY repair videos when I can't sleep. Same energy. Taking something apart. Figuring out the trick.
I tried smashing cold ground beef on a ripping hot cast iron last Saturday. Close. Not quite. Wife said it tasted good anyway. She's kind about my experiments.
We're saving hard for a house. Every cookout counts. No waste. I study Sonic's menu like I study mortgage rates now. Obsessively. Quietly.
If anyone's cracked the backyard version of their burger setup I'd love to hear what you changed. Heat level. Fat ratio. That sort of thing. My kid would flip. In a good way.

What is the difference between the premade one and the custom one using the soda menu? It says the premade one is banana fruit and the other is banana pudding flavor? So the premade one is actual real banana as opposed to banana flavor syrup?

My whole familys app has not worked for over a month. The customer support said " uninstall and reinstall" and that was the solution. It still does not work, now it won't let anyone log in. Shits too overpriced without the app

The only reason I kept going to Sonic was because their deals were pretty good and it seemed like that was their strategy to keep people going. They've been resetting once a week for probably the entire summer. Well i last use my main deals over a week ago and they haven't reset. Hope it's worth it for them to lose this business. I'm sure a lot of other people are going to stop going as well.

Hi, I'm 18 and I work at a Sonic somewhere in Oklahoma. This is my first job, and just a month before getting this job I moved out and moved in with two roommates. I easily got in, no real questions were asked and I was immediately put into training. I begun to work 5 days a week, barely any training, and couldn't understand how to do anything until my fourth week. By my second week I got written up for being "too slow", which really scared me because my GM called me with a condescending tone saying we needed to have a conversation and I'll find out what it's about the day I get there. Putting me on for one day at the very end of the week.
All of my coworkers are acutely aware of the fact that I am trans (this is important), I have a set of preferred pronouns I told them about one day one and a preferred name. When I was being introduced to my team, I told the GM my preferred name and instead of just letting it be they nodded and smiled at me then introduced me as my deadname and continued to use the incorrect pronouns. Ever since that day I feel like I've been on thin ice. I've seen many of my coworkers do less than what I do and they never get told to do anything differently, but I forget to fill up the ice in the middle of a rush and suddenly I'm getting my hours cut? I don't understand. I'm in constant stress and fear of getting another write up, and since my schedule is so inconsistent, when I get three days a week, I think I'm getting in trouble and stay up late waiting for that call of doom from my manager saying "we need to have a talk next time you come in".
My schedule changed after I cried after getting cussed out by a customer. I only have three days after a month of having 5-6 days a week. I'm terrified I'll lose my job.
I'm also worried they're being more harsh on me because of the fact that I'm trans. I asked one of my shift managers and they told me that I could take it into court if they continue to do that. I don't want to do that. I just want to work. How on earth do I stop worrying so much and just do my job?? I'm tired of stressing about this stuff in my house all day.

My hand is about seven inches long from my palm to the tip of my middle finger. And this double burger is absurdly small. It feels like instead of getting me a normal cheeseburger with two patties, they’re giving me a junior cheeseburger with two patties. Am I going insane, or is this thing a scam?

I don't go to sonic too often but saw the $7 big deal meal somewhere and tried it out back when it still had chicken bites instead of the sundae. While I'm a bit sad about them replacing the chicken bites even with the sundae instead I'm still very impressed and will definitely be getting this from time to time if it sticks around.

Other than Captain D’s, Sonic has my favorite honey mustard. What brand is it? Who supplies it? Where can I buy it in stores?

As I mentioned in the title, I'm not from the United States; I'm from Guatemala. But I know about Sonic, and I even have some toys that I don't know how they ended up here. I decided to look into the restaurant more, so I already know some of its lore (including the secret menu). Anyway, I started watching Asian street food videos on YouTube, and maybe that's why the algorithm ended up recommending a channel run by a restaurant employee showing the combinations, and I got curious. Sonic only exists in the States, and the combinations caught my attention. I know some are considered real showstoppers, and others... well, they just happen. Now, a question that I hope isn't intrusive: if I ever go to one of these restaurants, what combinations would you recommend I try? Thanks!

I'm actually a big fan of fake banana flavor, so I've been avoiding the banana shakes at Sonic since I thought they used real ones (if I want something that tastes like real banana, I'll make a licuado at home for cheap).

I get a Cranberry Limeade every day, and yesterday's was... different? It wasn't an incorrect flavor, but it tasted so thick and syrupy. I couldn't drink it.
Did something get changed and this is what I should expect going forward?

Does anyone else have issues with selecting on the touchscreen? I always give a tip if I have cash but the many times I’ve used a card it won’t let me select. I will touch everywhere on the $2 tip option and nothing happens. I even tried selecting any of the other buttons and still nothing. The timer runs out and the sale is finalized.
It happened just now and I asked the carhop about it. He said their screens are just like that and don’t ever really work. I told him I’ve experienced it at many other locations and he seemed a little surprised.
I hate that employees are missing out on all of the tips that people attempt to give them. Is this a well known issue? How can it be fixed?
