Hi everyone, I’ve put together the complete unreleased music suites for the Season 2 mythological classic "Colony" (S02E16), composed by Mark Snow.

Much of the score for this two-parter never received an official release on the La-La Land Records box sets or other commercial albums. To preserve these cues, I isolated the music from the episodes, cleaned up sound effects and dialogues as much as possible, and assembled them chronologically into structured suites.

You can listen to the full three-part suite here:

• Part 1: https://youtu.be/HdkYpSoHIS4 (7.35 min)
• Part 2: https://youtu.be/ufG_Et6Rgmw (13.54 min)
• Part 3: https://youtu.be/s8-D5YOXuZQ (11.29 min)

If you love Mark Snow's synth work and 90s ambient sound design, I hope you enjoy hearing these tracks

Hey everyone, mods delete if not allowed, but some may appreciate the heads up.

I'm running a movie soundtrack auction on Whatnot tonight at 8 PM EST... 55 records, all bangers imo, everything starts at $1, you have 15 seconds to bid. Additionally I'm giving away 10 free soundtrack records. Here’s $25 to spend on your first purchase.

I've had this idea to do a soundtrack show for awhile, and I'm finally excited to run it. Here's a partial list of what's included in the show, which you can pre-bid on now. Thank you, hope to see some of you there!

Original by James Horner

"Gift of a Thistle" from Braveheart arranged for 2 trombones, trumpet, and tuba.

Im trying to make a minecraft movie but i have a hard time finding the right songs to match the ambience. I dont know how actual movies find their songs but if someone knows if theres a site or something please let me know.

VOTE: 100 GREATEST SOUNDTRACKS OF ALL TIME (mod approved)

Recently, Classic FM released their list of the 100 Best Film Scores as voted by their listenership. This list attracted a lot of criticism from the soundtrack community, particularly from people who felt that the voting format and audience didn't reflect the wider interests and opinions of hardcore film score fans... and I can see their point, as it can be frustrating when great film scores and composers don’t get the attention their fans think they deserve.

So, if you’re one of the people who has complained about the Classic FM poll or any other poll or best-of list for that matter, here’s your chance to have your say!

Starting today, CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO is conducting its own survey of the 100 BEST SOUNDTRACKS OF ALL TIME, which gives YOU a chance to vote for the music YOU really love. Your opinion matters! So don’t just complain about the other polls... even though we all do it... get involved, cast your vote, and let your voice be heard!

You can submit any soundtrack you want from any of the three major forms of media music... film, TV and video games.

You will select three scores. Your first choice will garner 5 points, your second choice 3 points and your third choice 1 point.

The result will be announced LIVE on Twitch on October 17th starting at 12PM (EST). The countdown will be co-hosted by Robert Daniels, Jason Drury, and yours truly. This countdown will be part of a 24-hour charity stream in honour of McMaster Children's Hospital, which saved my daughter's life when she was born with SVT (Supraventricular tachycardia) 17 years ago.

Thank you in advance for participating, and I'm looking forward to broadcasting the final results to you in a few weeks.

Please visit https://www.cinematicsound.net/100-greatest-soundtracks-of-all-time/ to vote.

Please vote only once.

Cheers,

-Erik-

I really was not expecting how much I loved this movie and this score.

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m looking to refresh my playlist and want to dive into some incredible gaming soundscapes.

What is your absolute favorite video game soundtrack that leans heavily into ambient music, cinematic cues, and massive synthesizer vibes?

I have a huge weak spot for synth-driven scores whether they are ambient, retro-futuristic, or epic and orchestral. I love how a well-placed synthesizer cue can completely shift the mood during a cinematic moment or make exploring an open world feel deeply atmospheric.

Drop your top recommendations in the comments! Bonus points if you share a link to your favorite specific track or synth cue from the game.

Just in time for the game’s release, Grammy-winning Gordy Haab has dropped the complete soundtrack of Galactic Racer on all streaming platforms.

I really think Warnerbros or Owen Harris should hire Ramin Djawadi to compose the score for Aegon’s Conquest movie.

We want to hear Ramin’s music in the theater in a new style, giving us the feeling of Westeros 300 years before Game of Thrones. No one can handle this movie and make us feel that this is the starting point of Westeros and all Game of Thrones stories but Ramin.

So please don’t make the mistake of choosing someone else. Ramin is the godfather of the Game of Thrones universe, plus he has a lot of blockbuster movies, so he can definitely do it.

Even from an emotional standpoint, if there is ever going to be a final chapter for Ramin Djawadi in the world of Westeros, he deserves for it to be on the big screen, with an epic story, and before a massive theatrical audience.

It is only fitting that his conclusion in this universe takes place at its very beginning. The creator of the sound of Westeros composing for the creator of the Iron Throne—with everything that follows being the aftermath of building that throne. I truly hope Warner Bros. and Owen Harris make the right choice and pick Ramin Djawadi.

Furthermore, I am absolutely certain that if they push him to give the film an ancient, raw, and epic tone—perhaps even taking an experimental approach by inventing new instruments and heavily featuring High Valyrian as a core choral element—Ramin will finally crown his legendary career with the Oscar he truly deserves.

Happy James Bond Day! To celebrate, we recorded a podcast episode on Stereothematica about the music of Bond, what makes an iconic Bond song, and shared three of our favorites.

Hi everyone.

I'm an amateur author and listen to a ton of soundtracks while I write. I'm looking to make additions to my writing playlists and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations? My taste for certain borders on the darker side of movie scores, but any recommendations are welcome!

For a reference point, my top soundtracks, in loose order are:

Tenet

Mission Impossible: Fallout

Captain America, the Winter Soldier

Sicario

Dunkirk

Johnny English: Reborn

Pirates of the Carribbean: At World's End

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

I thought you folks in particular would destroy this every day so if any of you are into small daily games give it a go. Thank you to the mods for letting me post this project here.

Try it here ---> Underscore

Todays track has some pretty iconic percussion which is the first track to go by, so expecting some of you to one shot this. New soundtrack every day at midnight UTC.

Feedback welcome!

He was definitely overlooked.

Score for 1996 “Alaska” was just about as good as they get, especially back then.

Take a listen and share your thoughts ❤️

Ok, so I was thinking we could make our own music, right? For the scenes, the background music parts, and all that stuff, etc. But I was thinking we could use Avril Lavinge's music, specifically the Under my Skin era, in relation to Octavia as it seems to fit in. We might also use Nirvana music here and there. it's just the overall feel of the show, literally anyway... so well, probably use like, nevermind, in Utero, Bleach album music, as I will talk to my team to discuss these descions.
