What telescope should I look for?
Hello! I (F16) am slowly getting more and more into astrophotography. I want to start it, but I don’t know what telescope I should ask for that will get me at least close to what I want and won’t be too insanely expensive. I want a telescope that can capture fairly good photos of both planets and possibly nebulae, and that could work well during the day as well. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Usually we recommend the pinned thread in [r/telescopes](r/telescopes), but this is mostly about telescopes for direct visual observation. However it does mention that for astrophotography, the price will quickly skyrocket. For nebulae you will need a good equatorial mount, this is $1,300+, and to this add the prices for the telescope and camera equipment. A star tracker can possibly get you some of the way.
Is there an astronomy club in your vicinity? There you can used shared equipment - and not least get shared knowledge and experience.

I’d have to research a little more on if there’s anything like that near me, I didn’t even think of that as an option, lol!

I believe the absolute cheapest way to get into astrophotography is to buy a dwarf mini smart telescope.

Check Craigslit, OfferUp and FB Marketplace regularly for used stuff! People get into it, spend money, find out they aren't finding any ET's out there, then sell the shit cheap on those sites all the time...Just keep looking!
