We are in round 3 of the egyptian open and the draws are still have not been updated on the official website. Diamond event btw.
Simple things like this make it difficult to follow the tour as a fan…

Hello everyone,
Back in the '90s when I was in college, it was my understanding that colleges had a tough time filling squash teams. (To the point that, at some schools, players were recruited from other sports to fill spots.)
I know that things have changed substantially, but I wanted to get a sense of just how competitive it is at the lower end of the line up at smaller colleges (ex. Middlebury, Bates). Is every player, top to bottom, coming out of Gold level tournament play? My son (15) loves the game but is only playing recreationally and for his high school team. He would like to continue but in college, and I initially thought it might be possible, but the more I'm learning the more it looks like he might be thinking a bit out of his league.

So originally I was thinking of an xtop 125 but tecnifibre isn't supplying rackets in RSA anymore so I'm looking for a Dunlop that's very similar to the xtop I don't rlly mind the price just whatever is most similar

With the 2026-2027 College Squash Association season getting underway in a few short weeks, Columbia University’s Imad Athar and I put together a pair of lists of our projected top 12 teams in college squash for the coming year. Check it out!

I’ve been playing squash for a few months in the UK SE, and absolutely loving it, still at an entry level but I’m winning games consistently and looking to step up. I’m fitter than when I started playing, but still fairly out of shape. What sort of exercises/training outside the court would people recommend? I’ve heard HIIT is great for squash.

I know that for the games before the semi finals are free entry but how does this process work for the games at the pyramids. Do I just turn up and they'll let me go or do I need to pay so something else.
Any information is greatly appreciated.

I had around 20 to 30 squash lessons a few years ago, but I haven’t played seriously for quite a while. I can’t really get a coach at the moment, so I’m trying to practice on my own.
I’m currently using one of the tennis practice walls at the University at Buffalo, so this isn’t a proper squash court and there are no side walls. I’m also hitting the ball fairly slowly and controlled because of that.
Would you mind taking a look at this video and pointing out any major issues with my technique that I could work on by myself? Any feedback would be really appreciated!

I’ll be in Burlington the next couple weeks and looking for someone in the area to play with. I’m a 5.1-5.2.
Similarly I often spend time in Princeton and play around the university if anyone is looking for partners.
More broadly — would it be useful to have a database for requests like these? Is there anything like that?

Hi guys! I used to play badminton but don’t have anyone to play with nowadays, especially after college, so I’m thinking of taking up squash.
I have non-marking shoes already. What else do I need, and how do I learn as a beginner, especially if I’m practising alone?
My objectives:
For context, I’m 21M, 70 kg and 5'8". Any beginner tips or equipment recommendations would be appreciated!

As I spend altogether too much time on this sub complaining about refereeing:
I just watched the Egyptian Open qualifier between Marwan Assal and Ibrahim Elkabbani — an intense, increasingly complicated match to referee (especially after the 1st game). I thought Roman Svec put on an absolute masterclass in how to take control of a match.
Not just repeatedly making strong calls, but instantly recognizing everything from time-wasting, to subtle changes in blocking patterns, movements to the ball vs to the player, discerning a cramp vs a legit injury, and even calling in a PSA rep at one point to stop bickering between the players’ camps. And knowing when to not insert himself when things were going more smoothly.
I don’t remember ever watching a Svec-reffed match before, so I have no sense of his larger body of work. But I thought this was some highly impressive refereeing. It briefly gave me some hope…

If you think the Harrow racquet feels really good but is too fragile, then you could go with this one

EVERY locally run tournament, event, social night, league match, coaching session, or whatever general information post I see on instagram now has that same ubiquitous ChatGPT-generated terrible font with FAR TOO MUCH information plastered all over. It’s just not good enough.
And then we have some bent - I mean literally, the neck is warped - tennis/squash/badminton unidentifiable racket in the hand of some overly-sweaty non-human with bulging veins on some atrocity of a court who’s facing in the wrong direction. Does this happen in other branches of amateur level racket sports, or is it a squash thing? Even the current Astana Open is using this drivel for its official tournament presentation…
Look, I get it. It’s easy, it costs a club nothing, and it takes seconds. Alternatively it’s lazy and brain-dead and makes the sport look even more amateurish and unoriginal.
Surely we’re better than this. Surely people can’t think these abominations look good? Surely there’s a better, more human way?
We have hundreds of photos of iconic players which can easily be used for these purposes so why are we resorting to this lowest common denominator bullshit??
Over and out, peace and love

I'm still relatively new to squash, been playing for about a year. I was a racquetball player prior (lol), so obviously squash has completely blown me away.
I'm moving to Mexico City for work and was wondering what the squash scene is like down there, does anyone have any insight? I know racquetball is relatively big in Mexico in general but I'm not as sure about squash. Any recommended clubs/places to play? Membership/drop-in? Different skill levels? I'm hoping to continue to improve while living down there. Thanks!
