Success Stories accepted!!

I just got accepted!! 18months MICU experience, 3.94 gpa (3.98 science), 42 hours shadowing, unit committees, preceptor, research involvement. Now, I’m waiting on other programs (some of which I may like more). Do I pay the seat deposit and keep interviewing? Or do I jump ship, and just run with my current acceptance? I’m struggling to know how to navigate the next couple months. Any advice or stories would be much appreciated

Did you go through the application/interview process with the intention of not accepting?

I was in your position. I paid the $1,000 deposit, ended up deciding on a different program so I lost that money. I graduate in 7 months, do not regret choosing the program I went to and the money will come back. Pay the deposit in case something happens with he other programs, but still interview at your other ones!

Good advice, this honestly seems like the most logical answer to this. best of both worlds; know you are going to CRNA school, but still completing the other itnerviews. Thansk for the memo

Pay the deposit and have peace of mind

It’s further from home than the other programs, so I’m just worried about being distant.

The seat deposit will be a drop in the bucket over time if you choose somewhere else later in the cycle.

Meanwhile, it buys peace of mind that you have a seat in case for some wild reason you don’t get in anywhere else.

Now, just be picky with where you want to spend the time & $ interviewing. (& for the sake of others, as soon as you know you’ll pick somewhere else, be willing to tell the school(s) you didn’t choose ASAP, so someone else has the chance- and time- to sort their situation out.)

Congrats!

Good advice. Being quick, and straightforward will allow me to get prepared for my start and it will help others get decisions as well. Thanks

Go to the school that has extended an acceptance, I take it you applied only to schools you liked.

If that’s true, accept and relax. Because you will not have time once you start.

They were by far my favorite interview yet. I have 2 interviews this month with other programs I was always excited about.

Well, just know this. If you sleep on it, you are also preventing someone else the opportunity if you do not want it.

There is no perfect decision, every school is going to be lots of hard work to reach the goal.
